The Moon Knight Season 2 release date is highly anticipated among MCU fans. Season 1, released in March 2022, was acclaimed by critics and the audience alike. Despite being a successful outing, it’s been over three years, and fans are concerned whether they would ever get to see this beloved, complex character again.
So, when could Moon Knight Season 2 come out? Here’s what we know.
What is the Moon Knight Season 2 release date estimate?
The Moon Knight Season 2 release date estimate is unknown. This is because Marvel Studios has neither canceled nor renewed the project, leaving its fate uncertain.
Currently, Oscar Isaac, who plays Steven Grant / Marc Spector, seems to be busy with other projects, including Frankenstein, Flesh of the Gods, and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios is engrossed with projects setting up their big outing, Avengers: Doomsday.
In television, the upcoming Marvel projects include Vision Quest and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which are set to release next year. Hypothetically, if at all, Moon Knight Season 2 gets renewed, it might not go under production before 2026 or 2027. This means a release date of 2028 and beyond could be considered. However, it could likely happen after the Multiverse saga winds up.
Moon Knight Season 2 news and updates
A new report has emerged about Moon Knight Season 2’s potential storyline. It claims that Marvel Studios is developing a second season, which might possibly tie into the long-rumored Midnight Sons movie.
Moreover, an X (formerly Twitter) post by Moon Knight News mentions the storyline of Season 2, which is as follows: “A Moon Knight sequel where Marc Spector and Steven Grant would be forced to solve a mystery that would eventually bring them face-to-face with the third personality, Jake Lockley.” However, the authenticity of this report has not been verified.
Back in May 2025, Moon Knight creator Jeremy Slater revealed to ComicBook.com the reason behind why the series’ Season 2 is not materializing. He said, “Talk to Kevin Feige, Talk to Oscar Isaac. I think the ball’s really in their court. It’s as much or as little Moon Knight as Oscar wants to do. Kevin’s the guy with the master plan, and I think when he comes up with a way to really incorporate Moon Knight into there … It’s my hope that we’re gonna see him again, but I’m as curious as the rest of you guys.”
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen what direction Marvel Studios takes in the case of Moon Knight’s future.
If another season happens, it will come out on Disney+.
