The first trailer and key visuals for Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World Season 4 have been released, confirming the premiere date window for the upcoming chapter of the popular anime series. The show originally premiered in Japan on April 4, 2016. Both Seasons 2 and 3 were subsequently split into two parts. Season 2 Parts 1 and 2 came out in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Meanwhile, Season 3 Parts 1 and 2 debuted in 2024 and 2025. After the Season 3 finale aired in Japan, the anime’s social media accounts reported that the fourth season had gone into production. In May 2025, it was announced that the anime would return sometime in 2026.
Re:Zero Season 4 gets first trailer and new visuals confirming release date
Crunchyroll unveiled the first trailer for the Re:Zero Season 4 at its Industry Panel at Anime Expo 2025 and showcased new visuals. The network also confirmed that the fourth season of the popular anime will stream on the platform when it comes out in Japan in 2026.
The trailer features Subaru Natsuki, Emilia, Beatrice, and other important characters of the show and is set against a new variation of the first season’s main theme. In May 2025, various outlets reported that Fairouz Ai has joined the voice cast of Re:Zero Season 4 as Shaula, who serves as the Star Keeper of the Pleiades Watchtower. Yūsuke Kobayashi, Rie Takahashi, and Satomi Arai are reportedly returning as Subaru, Emilia, and Beatrice, respectively, in Season 4.
Re:Zero originated as a web novel series by author Tappei Nagatsuki, debuting on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2012. It later became a light novel series with illustrations from Shin’ichirō Ōtsuka. Both the web and light novels are ongoing at the time of this article’s composition. The first three seasons have covered up to Volume 20 of the light novels. The fourth season will likely adapt the storyline from Volume 21 onward.
