Later this week, anyone who picks up the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales for Playstation 5 will also get to play a remastered version of Spider-Man PS4 that takes full advantage of the new console’s improved graphics. When Insomniac first announced the remaster in September, they annoyed a few fans when they confirmed that the new version won’t allow gamers to export their original save data from the PS4 game. But it seems that the studio has had a change of heart. In a new tweet, Insomniac revealed that a forthcoming update will enable save transfers. Check out the new announcement below.

In other words, you’ll no longer have to start Peter Parker’s adventure over from scratch (unless you want to). This should come as a relief to anyone who spent innumerable hours slaving over the original game to obtain all skills, gadgets, collectibles, and trophies. A few new trophies and photo mode features are coming exclusively to the remastered version. But thankfully, Insomniac isn’t leaving PS4 owners completely in the dark. The new update will also add the three new suits from Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered to the PS4 version. This includes Andrew Garfield’s suit from the first Amazing Spider-Man movie.
Insomniac previously confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered won’t be available as a free upgrade to PS4 owners. Additionally, the studio has no plans to give the remaster a physical release. Aside from its myriad graphical enhancements, the game also notably features Ben Jordan stepping in as the new facial model for Peter.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available for PS4 and PS5 this Thursday, November 12.
