Reality is Broken in the New Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Trailer

After nearly two years, Jean-Luc Picard and his new crew are flying back to Paramount+ for another cosmic adventure. But this time, the very fabric of reality itself is at stake. Paramount+ has debuted a new trailer for Star Trek: Picard season 2, offering fresh looks at some of the time travel elements that will come into play this year along with several returning characters from the Next Generation era.

John de Lancie’s Q, the extra-dimensional being, seems to have played a major role in whisking Picard and his allies to an alternate universe that he dubs “the road not taken.” The journey will also reunite Picard with El-Aurian bartender Guinan (played by Whoopi Goldberg). And she’s around to say that he needs more than a starship in order to set things right.

It looks like much of the season will find Picard exploring Earth’s past in the year 2024, which die-hard fans will recognize as a pivotal year for the Star Trek universe. And if things weren’t already bad enough, Picard will also once again tangle with the Borg Queen, this time played by Annie Wersching. But although she certainly poses more of a threat than anyone else, she does offer one crucial bit of advice: “a single change is vastly more dangerous than you realize.”

Star Trek: Picard season 2 launches on Paramount+ on March 3.
