I think this is so far the best comic book movie adaptation. I think these movie critics suck at rating movies. Its more real than spider-man and much better than the hulk. i mean cmon...a guy who gets blinded but can see sound waves and has super human reflexes? how insane is that?

As a long time fan of the Hulk it would be almost impossible for me to say I disliked the movie. I was even a fan of the realy cheap cartoon show made in the sixties. However I am prepared to be objective with my review. I have seen the movie on two occasions and here are the Pros and cons (be prepared for some spoilers)
For those of you who have not seen the movie yet it is the story of a scientist named Bruce Banner (Eric Bana) who during a science experiment gets a dose of gamma radiation and causes him to unleash a beast that has lain dormant within him since birth. This was due to a gene enhancement experiment that his father David Banner (Nick Nolte) was working on for the United States Army in an effort to create super soldiers. The test required a human subject and against the Army’s wishes he experiments on himself and thus passing this super gene onto his son (are you still with me). The rest of the film sees the Army pulling all the stops to try and apprehend and contain the Hulk for their own purposes.
Pros
I thought the relationship between Bruce and his father David Banner (Nick Nolte) was brilliant. It was the perfect cocktail of his father’s murderous and obsessive nature and the emotionally suppressed son. On the same note watching the Hulk discover himself and his ability’s was a masterstroke. Remember the Hulk is no different to a newborn child and the director realy played on this a lot which I thought was very well done.
Another interesting point was how well Ang Lee blended the story of the TV show with that of the comic book. For example in the TV show David Banner experimented on himself using a Gamma ray machine. In the comics he was accidentally exposed to a gamma bomb. In the movie an accident occurred in a lab with a gamma machine. The main Catch phrase was ‘don’t make me angry you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry” which we all know was taken from the TV show. Ang lee even went to the extent of incorporating the music theme from the TV show into the main theme of the movie. (The incredible Hulk Pilot episode during his first transformation) this was a very well researched movie. When he finally did turn into the Hulk I don’t think a single frame went by without there being some reference to the immortal work of Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko the Hulks original artists. The special effects where amazing the three most memorable effects had to be when he realized that the angrier he was the bigger he grew. When the Hulk breaks free of the army barracks where he was held captive. Sprints at top speed before he realizes he can leap with extraordinary bounds, a scene that was straight out of the comics. And the last was when his father turns into a human lightning bolt and they both traveled through the clouds the scene was simply movie magic. The performance of both Sam Elliot and Jennifer Connelly were great they both had very strong supporting roles.
Cons
Ok here it comes I thought Eric Bana was a bit wooden being a fellow Australian we are so used to seeing Eric in skit type comedy’s it’s a little hard to break away from that at times. Secondly the split screen didn’t realy quite cut it for me I think there where time’s when it was used quite stylishly, however there where other time’s where important scenes lost impact because of it. Some of the close up shots looked a little animated but nothing major. Length wasn’t a problem for me I’m sure there are some of you out there who are probably thinking whats wrong with this guy but I realy enjoyed the first 40 minutes. I believe it was necessary to set the pace for the second half. Overall it was great movie experience and definitely one of my favorites superhero adaptations.

Hmm..Just read the review of Blade: Trinity by another person here. While I agree thatDracula himself doesn't get a lot of screen time and the feel of this film is way different, I don't agree that it made it a bad movie. There are no award winning performances here? It's a BLADE movie!
First off, the mix of characters are very likeable. You've got Blade playing his usual smart ass but mainly bad ass guy. Believe it or not, he's not the straight man here! Whistler's daughter played by Beil is the younger model with the new school gear. Her moves will remind you of Blade from the original film, cutting through vamps with fluid ease. This to me says major effort and she was very believable. The girl can act, you have to give her that. Next is Van Wilder..and I have to say right off, I'd watch Van Wilder VS the Vampires any day! His scenes were hysterical. Did it have a place in the movie? Yea, if thats the character! Did they do it too much? While it was a bit excessive, it was very funny. Also, it wasn't like he was spitting out one liners in every scene and didn't stop the pacing of the movie just to deliver them. Most of the comedy heavy bits were just with him and the baddies. Trust me, you are going to laugh.
Dracula is under used, I'll give you that. The plot does seem a bit lost, but it is a thin one. The action takes you right through the story. The secondary vamp squad will take you back to Decon Frost's gang, albeit a more rediculous version including Parker Posey, Tripple H from WWE and a guy looking like Ray Parks. These guys play up the "I'm so evil you'll pray for death so you don't have to watch me be evil anymore"...but it's enjoyable! They are young vamps who are obviously out of their league standing next to Blade or Dracula, and that's what the movie called for. You'll practically cheer every time one bites the dust literally, and that's what a baddies function is supposed to be. Mission accomplished.
Trinity is fast, funny and fun. The crowd at the NYC premiere was cheering and hooting all through it. This is also the perfect introduction to the Nightstalkers movies. Gone is the gumby like CGI fighting. Beil and Reynolds can kick ass with the best of them and play off of each other well. Also, if any execs are reading, Reynolds has my vote for Deadpool! Withe the impending success of Blade: Trinity, you can be sure hollywood will continue to crank out the Marvel goodness.
