20th Century Fox has provided Superhero Hype! with an exclusive new photo of Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, opening in theaters on May 1st. You can view a bigger version of the photo by clicking on it below, and if you missed the new trailer, you can watch it here!
Directed by Gavin Hood, the action-thriller stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.
Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

How come Marvel doesn't like masks in the X-men universe. I just don't get it.

Deadpool?
This could be the title character in the Remake of "American Ninja"
Looks like he's getting ready to clear some brush.

I can only hope this movie somewhat redeems the franchise after the HORROR that was X3!!

Cotton sleeveless, cargo pants, leather holster... that's exactly what a covert ninja mercenary would wear... if he was sponsored by GAP.

Perfect choice of actors for Deadpool. Hell, he already played the character. Just watch his "Hannibal King" performance in "Blade: Trinity".

Get over it. It is called Wolverine not DEADpool. It is a origin story. I know some of you understand the whole concept of origin stories. Was deadpool BORN with scarring? I do not think so.

Looks like Joe Armstrong from American Ninja.

You have to remember that he was disfigured when he got his healing factor implanted by the Weapon X project to cure his cancer. Maybe it will happen by the end of the movie !

I dont believe he is dead pool in this shot yet. This is probably him as wade wilson. He wasnt born dead pool.

he doesnt start off wearing the mask anyway. it takes time for his face to get all scarred up so he wont get the mask until the end of the movie or maybe not at all...so either way it doesnt matter it would still be tru to the comics

Haven't you guys seen the new trailer, the actual deadpool is shown fighting wolvie wearing workout pants and sporting weird baraka wrist blades. His face is disfigured and he has no mouth...I honestly don't get it but this pictured here is not final Deadpool. At the very least Gambit looks sweet.

he doesnt get the mask until wolverine messes his face up so bad that when he regenerates his face looks deformed

Dude you all are idiots. This is just like the comic. He doesn't scarred till Sabertooth does it (not wolverine). They already said he will get scarred and done the mask at the end of the film. Besides this film is about Wolverine not Wade. ****ing idiots.

Hate the Origin story (James Howlett?!? Come on! Been calling him Logan for so many decades...)
And hate how sissy and sappy they made Wolverine (Crying in X3?). But at least this movie acknowledges a history between Wolverine and his villains, and they're not there just for fight scenes (I'm looking at you Bryan Singer! Sabretooth some grunting stooge in X1... Deathstryke a mute in X2...)

I seem to recall reading something a while back that he gets scarred in the film. So possibly we will see him don the mask toward the end of the film. Also, Ryan Reynolds has been trying to get a Deadpool film greenlit for a few years. He is a fan of the character so I have faith that he will do the role justice. I think if anything it will be the film's low quality that drags the actors down. However I do have a lot of faith for the entire movie.

did any of you guys not see the trailer where wolverine is fighting a pale bold dude w/ scars or something on him.maybe deadpool after the weapon x.so calm down a bit

Also in response to Wichy the James Howlett back story is written in the comics. I am sure there are many changes but the story line is from the Marvel Universe.
