In preparation for Fox's exclusive, three-part reveal of X-Men Origins: Wolverine beginning Sunday, Feb. 15 (full details here!), the studio has provided ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! with this kick-ass, exclusive new photo of Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed!

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Nice

This is gonna suck. Reshoots mean something isn't right. When Jackman released his spin statement on the reshoots, I knew this film was a bomb.

Posted by: FuadRamses on February 12, 2009 at 16:49:38

You're still not first, Doc. Well done!

Posted by: Thomas on February 12, 2009 at 16:50:25

The picture isn't that great :( but I'm still looking foreward to the film.

Posted by: SolidSnake on February 12, 2009 at 16:50:46

Not first and I agree this is probably going to bomb from word of mouth.

Posted by: Rossyboy on February 12, 2009 at 16:58:15

There's not a chance it will bomb, it may not live up to peoples expectations but hey its just a movie based on something thats not real.. so chill out, switch off, grab some popcorn and enjoy someone who's the best at what he does..the end.

Posted by: Shayera on February 12, 2009 at 16:59:36

Going by the look of the background, where would you say this is taking place?
I'd almost say New Orleans ;)

People bash Liev Schreiber's "tamed" look, but the only qualm I have is that his hair has no blond in it. If you've seen any of the Weapon X comics, Sabretooth has short hair...

Posted by: Rossyboy on February 12, 2009 at 17:15:43

Aint that the truth!!

Posted by: LucaS! on February 12, 2009 at 17:17:09

I agree. They should have just atleast put a hint of blonde in it. I don't think this movie is going to bomb. Whatever reason they did some reshoots, they either did it to make it better, or film new stuff that they weren't able to film before. So I'm looking forward to this movie.

When will people realize that this film will blow? I mean, that is not Sabretooth. That is just some actor with scruffy sideburns and fake rubber fingers. If anything, they should have made Schreiber look more ferral-like.

And face facts folks: Wolverine is not that strong of a character to hold up his own film. I mean, he needs Gambit, Deadpool, Cyclops, and baby Storm among other cameos by X-Men and X-Villains that didn't make it into the final cut of X3. This film is going to be a dissapointment. And Hugh Jackman releasing a letter to fans saying that this film is going to be "badass" is only proof of that.

Ever since "Iron Man," I thought Marvel was on a roll. I mean, both "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" were good films. I'm starting to think that those two films were flukes and Marvel is back at their old ways of making crap films of their characters. I mean, even "Iron Man 2" sounds like a rehash of the first film (Iron Man + Government Agent asking too many questions vs. Business Rival/Iron-Clad Villain.

Get ready for a return to form for Marvel with "Wolverine." Scratch that. Marvel already returned to form with "Punisher: War Zone" and it's crappy qualities. I mean, that film bombed so hard that it left a crater so deep that even Wolverine himself cannot crawl out of it.

But still, I'll go see "Wolverine." Not becuase I want to, but because something is saying I have to.

Posted by: theman on February 12, 2009 at 17:29:00

I don't know about this one

Posted by: Shayera on February 12, 2009 at 17:30:00

@senroashish
All X-Men movie properties, including Wolverine are owned by Twentieth Century FOX. Marvel really doesn't have much control over it, if any for that matter...
The only MARVEL STUDIOS movies produced by Marvel are Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk... with Thor, Iron Man 2, Captain America, and The Avengers coming in the next two years.
Punisher War Zone was a Lionsgate screw-up. I know, it looks like I've just been going down on Marvel all day long, but these are just the facts.

I'm not expecting a terrible film, just something between X-Men: The Last Stand and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Fans who don't make the comics their livelihood will enjoy it, and non-fans will probably enjoy it more.

there is no chance this will bomb.

Posted by: count ***ula on February 12, 2009 at 17:34:37

ok, WTF is he supposed to be doing in this pic??? Jumping upward?

Posted by: IamBecomeDeath on February 12, 2009 at 17:38:38

I'm not so much against the Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed character as I am of that fairy playing Gambit. I love Ryan Renolds work, but if Deadpool doesn't have the mask he just ain't Deadpool. I hope this movie is better than expected because I agree it seems like Marvel is taking a step backwards (even though this is still on FOX's head). Another thing, why's it that Punisher is constantly being made into movies? The property sucks (they all flop)! Marvel should take better care of their characters. They need to stick with their big guns or they will go the way of the dodo!

Posted by: ico on February 12, 2009 at 17:43:36

This movie is NOT going to bomb. They could have two fat, hairy guys in a graphic sex scene and this will still be #1 in theaters.

Posted by: NinjinSteve on February 12, 2009 at 17:44:06

Wow....more wire work. Cutting edge Fox

Posted by: Johnny G, The Worst Pizza Boy Ever on February 12, 2009 at 17:46:27

judging from the trailer Wolverine and Sabertooth seem to know each other pretty well

and this is a prequel, therefore it takes place before the first X-Men movie

so how come when Wolverine and Sabertooth meet in X-Men its as if they have never met before?

Posted by: regwec on February 12, 2009 at 17:51:59

I hate anything that isn't Batman or Watchmen. This will suck and Marvel suck's!

Posted by: the twaht on February 12, 2009 at 17:56:02

this is gonna be one of those movies where you have to slap a small child into next week in order to alleviate the frustration.

it'll be THAT bad.

Posted by: YOU'RE*ALL*STILL*RETARDED on February 12, 2009 at 18:01:59

Johnny G,

I agree. But remember the comics. Logan has a nasty habit of going berzerk and forgetting large chunks of his life. They'll probably explain it.

senroashish,

Well ain't you a fu$%in half wit. Wolverine is arguably one of, if not THEE, most popular and strong property Marvel has. He doesn't NEED all those other people in the movie. 20th Century Fox PUT them in the movie. People speaking for themselves under the false pretense that they're speaking for everybody are about as worthless as a fly. Marvel doesn't have any control over the movie. But...the director attached is a great director, the writer who wrote it wrote fu$%in Troy, and Jackman has played Wolverine great 3 times.

When will you F$%k tards realize that MOVIES are NOT COMICS? Its going to be different. Deal with it. Enjoy it.

Now you should all go kill yourselves with a rusty nail and a hammer.

What a f@g...

Looking forward to this movie, however, am disappointed that it's so short.
Will do my best to resist watching any more trailers for this flick, because I'm afraid I'll have seen most of the movie by the time it comes out... I'm so sick of that!
Concerning Hugh Jackman as Wolverine - let me say that just because he's in a movie does not guarantee success. What movies has he made recently that have been box-office smashes? Austrailia? I'm not saying the guy isn't talented, because he is. I'm only saying that I hope he understands that when he plays Wolverine -it's the comic fans that bring in the revenue... not his super-stardom. He does a great job, but it's the character that we love and will pay to see... not an actor. The same goes for every superhero movie I can think of, with one blaringly obvious exception: Robert D. Jr. - that guy made a no-name hero like Iron Man into a household name!
If I'm lyin'... I'm dyin'.
