Gambit has red eyes...come on!

Looks perfect for a young Gambit since this is like 10 years before the X-Men movies. He looked badass in the trailer from comic-con especially when they showed him with his staff.
My only problem & its another reason why Gambit is the **** is that he does not have his black & red eyes. Now what's the deal with that. They do have contacts for him to wear I should know I own a pair myself. So hopefully they'll fix that.

Anybody remember Storm? Her eyes went white when using her mutant power. Think about it.

The project is looking great but Gambit needs black and red eyes. Why would they do away with that?
Posted by: me on November 29, 2008 at 01:58:44
the black/red eyes probably happen when he uses his powerers. Hope he has the french accent. And he's gotta have the "gloves" that cover 3 of the 5 fingers for some awesome reason.

Soup. When Storm uses her powers in the comics, yes her eyes turn white. Even if Gambit is using his powers or not, they are still black and red. Think about it...dumbass.

Would have rather have seen Dominic Monaghan as Gambit (And I'm probably alone on that), but we'll see how this guy does.

I bet they use his red eyes when he's in battle or at his own doing so...like he gets mad kind like the hulk does maybe??? Just a guess

I can kind of see it...Gambit playing cards...game of his life, everything on the line...Wolverine comes staggering in, kind of disoriented, bumps Gambit's seat. Gambit jumps up all upset, "Excuse you!" Logan gets mad then, "Wanna make something of it?" Gambit, holding a card in his hand, lights it up..."Yeah, I do"...
Could be kind of awesome...probably just me... I look forward to finally seeing this on screen, plus Deadpool, yes, awesome.
And I agree, I miss the eyes as well, but...still, I'm just happy we get THE Gambit...

also, I think it would be more shameful to the character if they did not keep the Cajun accent than if they lost the eyes...I really hope the accent remained...just an extra thought.

No black & red eyes = epic fail.
Posted by: JLanphear on November 29, 2008 at 02:48:50
FAIL. No red eyes. He doesn't even really resemble Gambit. ugh... they should have stuck with their original choice, he looked EXACTLY like Gambit.
His performance better be perfect.

I was never a fan of Gambit. I never liked how the popularity of the character led to Gambit's veering away from Chris Claremont's original vision and ended up degenerating into a very generic "brooding anti-hero". I gotta say, though, Kitsch does look the part, and I can't imagine Gambit would be hard to play. I expect he'll do well.

You know, the eyes are a pretty simple thing for Hollywood to do. If they didn't include them, its because some executive/muckity muck at FOX has his/her head up their arse again. WHY??? Why the hell change that??? It's a basic part of Gambit and would look great on screen ... I think.
Also, I will bet a thousand dollars that DeadPool will be even MORE disappointing . . . at least in his appearance. Don't you for a second think they are going to even consider having him in his mask . . . or even with a disfigured face. Ryan Reynolds is far too pretty to cover up his mug.
It won't happen, but it would be great if Wolverine could put on his mask ... even if only for a half a scene.
eh ,,, . . . wishful thinking I suppose.
