Wolverine Strikes a Pose

November 26, 2008

Empire magazine visited the set of 20th Century Fox's Wolverine and with its article comes a new cover photo of Hugh Jackman in character and another photo inside the issue. You can check them both out below and here's a clip from the article:

"There's a scene in the first X-Men movie," said Jackman, "where Wolverine's introduced in a bar, fighting in a cage, and you felt that he did this every night of his life. If this movie is successful, you should feel that this guy can walk straight off the end of this film and into that bar. "

More quotes are available here. Opening May 1st, the Gavin Hood directed action-thriller stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.

Are those really his guns on the cover, or some photoshop magic?

yeah first pic is lame, reminds me of the odd, and out of character, ads for X3. 2nd pic is more like it though, 'should stick with that style.

I don't like to comment on pages like this, but you wonder why us comic book fans get a bad rap. Comments like "First, haha" Who cares if your first, second, last or never post!!! This is not directed at anyone person, although I used their words as an example. Got that off my chest!!!

Anyway, pictures look good, hopefully the movie will be better than the last x-man movie.

He was never meant to be Wolverine, but he's still watchable. He's a good actor. But another actor that looks more like what Wolverine should look like would have been much better.

He needs to take his shirt off.

=D

Did you know Deadpool is a rip off of DC's Deathstroke. Marvel even went as far as ripping off Death Stroke's name.."Slade Wilson"...And Ryan Reynolds is not going to even wear the Deadpool outfit in this movie...

HE NEEDS TO ME HAIRIER!!!

Like who fire breather. You can't make a statement like that without having a suggestion. DOn't you think Fox looked before they decided on Jackman, who in my opinion brings a realism to the character that doesnt show in the comics or the cartoons. Don't get me wrong I love Logan in the comics, but that character is a little over the top and would come off slightly, if not very campy. When I look back at the 90's cartoon, and even Evolution, Wolverine just seems like a characature, based on Clint Eastwood or something. Loved him but that just wouldnt work on screen, plus we're gonna get a darker Logan this movie.

HE NEEDS TO 'BE' HAIRIER!!!

Real apparently. I remember watching Dominic Monaghan on the Leno or Letterman show, and I remember him saying something about he's seen people go to the gym to work on his muscles, but that was nothing next to seeing Hugh Jackman working on the VEINS of his muscles haha.

It went something like that anyway, but there are on-set reports around the net stating Jackman worked physically harder on the role so yeah, it's likely it's real.

Posted by: Harish on November 26, 2008 at 16:10:33

Oh yeah and it's a cool couple of pics but it's nothing special in my honest opinion. I thought The Incredible Hulk's cover was pretty awesome though to be honest.

I love Hugh in the role and he's done great. But IMHO the only person who REALLY looks like Wolvie is GLEN DANZIG!!

hes the man

Posted by: ZebraBob on November 26, 2008 at 16:25:43

yeah, yeah...He should be hairier...he should also be shorter...he should speak with a french canadian accent...and Logan IS based on Clint Eastwood.

Now, can we just be glad that Jackman is talented and determined to give us as good a Wolverine as possible?...and that the movie is coming out?

...and the pics are fine...altho' I'm more partial to the pic of Logan in the leather jacket, claws out and walking thru a basement.

Posted by: jaymes_e06 on November 26, 2008 at 16:26:28

the pics are alright if not a little bit mediocre imo. I never thought he was the right choice to play Logan/Wolverine but that's just me. Anyway I'm still looking forward to this.

Meh, nothing special here. This movie better have one hell of a story line, cause I'm not too amped over this movie right now.

Posted by: Stumblin on November 26, 2008 at 16:37:08

Looks good, I want to see the real trailer though, not some copy off of someone's cell phone. From what I've seen, it looks ok. Though I really hope the Merc with a Mouth get's his real threads on and sports the mask.

Second pic is sic! He actually has great vascilarity in his arms. Too bad they didn't get a ripped Victor Creed. As a Sabretooth fan I am disappointed.

Posted by: adam krowski on November 26, 2008 at 16:48:54

"Heat II"? and "Ghostbusters 3"? this origins movie is going to blow balls. unless there's a good fight with wolverine and sabertooth.
