November 25, 2008
We have officially confirmed with 20th Century Fox that the first trailer for Wolverine will hit theaters with the studio's The Day the Earth Stood Still on December 12. The trailer will be exclusively available in theaters and will not debut online or on TV until some time later. Be sure to check your local paper or online for theater listings!
Directed by Gavin Hood, the May 1, 2009 release stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.
Leading up to the events of X-Men, Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

It's so obvious what Fox is trying to do by not releasing it online, but I must admit... I am look forward to the trailer!

I saw this trailer on youtube right after comic-con. Someone (I'm sure a lot of people) recorded it with their cell phone and posted it, although it's no longer there. If this is the same trailer, it's going to be badass. I'm just wondering if they're going to address the difference between Sabertooth in Xmen and Sabertooth in Wolverine, since it's the same movie universe.

You know what i hate?
That i live in Sweden.
I mean, we never get good trailers in the cinema. Or like these premiers, at QOS we didn't get Watchmen, and we most likely won't get this one with The Day the Earth Stood Still either.

I can't wait for this trailer. It does piss me off however that I'm forced to go see a movie that probobly won't be that good. "Hey this movie won't be very good, let's put a good trailer infrint of it. That'll get sales up."

I can wait. I don't care for "Day Earth..." and I am not blown away by what I've seen of Wolverine so far any way.

Has anyone else seen the trailer they showed at comic-con? I'm curious to see what people think of Sabertooth's look. They went in a completely different direction than in Xmen, and no longer looks anything like he does in the comics, but I think it still works, considering that he's a villianous counterpart to Wolvie.
Speaking of which, has anyone else seen a potential problem with the way they've been portraying villians in Marvel movies of late? So many Marvel films have the villian as little more than an evil version of the hero (Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Venom in Spiderman 3) that I'm afraid it may get to the point that a non-comic-fan audience may have difficulty accepting villians that are very different from their predecessors.

Coming from the UK, I hear that.

FOX isn't exactly reassuring fans by marketing the exact opposite way that The Dark Knight did. They're showing as little as possible.
With all the cameos, I'd think they would be showing more, but maybe they're just not confident in the movie.

I`ve been waiting to see the official Wolverine trailer for a while now because there are some fake X-Men Origins:Wolverine trailers up at Youtube.Honestly,I`m more interested in seeing the trailer for the new Wolverine movie than I am in seeing The Day the Earth the Earth Stood still.

go watch the trailer of comic con on youtube altough it did not thrill me the teaser, it has some good action and gambit is in there

Wait a minute, are they caalling the movie just "Wolverine" now? What happened to X-Men Origines:Wolverine? Hey if they did than groovy! I hate that old title.

AT LAST!!! I hope we'll have at least a glimpse of Gambit!
CAJUN POWER!!!
But, I'll be happy to see Wolvie again!

I hope its good, the talks of Director fights make me worried because the last time a director and FOX fought we got Babylon A.D. I think it will be good but I won't get my hopes to high to say its gonna be great. I just hope they give Gambit and Deadpool there due and just don't throw them aside like they did with Angel in X3.
Posted by: Fanboiii on November 25, 2008 at 20:12:34
I don't get why more people are excited to see Gambit or Deadpool than seeing Wolverine done right.
Fangirls...
The comic con trailer does look really good. I'm still skeptical just because it's Fox, but I think Gavin Hood is more than capable as director and I was an early supporter of Liev as Sabretooth.

i personally think that the comic con trailer was the best thing i have seen. it is pure baddass wolvie. and sabertooth is the way he should have been, not that crap they passed off in the first xmen movie. they practically had no verbal interaction, as if they had just met for the first time in that movie. and before someone goes and says that it was because wolverine's memory was lost, surely sabertooth would have said more. his memory was intact. as for the new xmen first class crap.....it sounds like crap. that seems more suited for something like a live-action tv series. that would blow heroes out the water.
