The new issue of Empire magazine has this new promo photo of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, opening May 1, 2009. Directed by Gavin Hood from a David Benioff, the action-thriller co-stars Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

I really dont know about this movie. This is one of the few superhero movies that i've felt apprehensive about. I also hate the name. They can't just call it "WOLVERINE".

Hey, he's like immortal, he looks the same age as he does now because he's probably hundreds of years old! Even if he were only 50-100, he'd still not change much because once he got to age 30 (or whatever he is) his body just regenerates to keep himself youthful. Remember X-Men 1 (movie) Jean Grey says no one can know how old he is. Older than Xavier maybe?

Wolverine photos are great. And that is a great photo of Wolverine. I, on the other hand, can't wait to see pictures of Blob, Sabertooth, and last but certainly not least, Deadpool.

Wolvie used to be my favorite, then Marvel butt raped him and turned him into James Howlett, little whiny sick kid with stupid ass bone claws...
....it sickens me.
-oh yeah,and he has a kid now, who has 2 ridiculous looking bone claws as well.
i was a huge fan of the original Frank Miller series (yea the same Frank Miller from 300 and sin city) where wolvie was on Madripoor (Marvel's "other" Japan)also when Silvestri was the artist, i always loved Mr. Fixit Aka Grey Hulk with suit on

im not a 100% sure about his, but didnt his son kill deathpool too?

What i read here, some dont read previous posts and their messages look silly.
I am not judging this movie beforehand, I just hope they do Wolverine justice.
ow and for the ones that think Wikipedia has all the correct info, you are wrong, just read the Origin comic books of Wolverine and all the other great stories.
Another great story is Wolverine Origins: The End
not spoiling that one for some of you :) it is actually a great story.

Wolverine Aka James Howlett is close to if not over a 100 years old due to his mutant ability. with his healing factor he is as agile and fit as a man in his prime. With his enhanced skeleton Wolverine can easily press a few hundred pounds with ease. And don't forget his enhanced senses from his mutant ability

NICE! I love Wolverine, I love Hugh Jackman, in my opinion there a great marriage. So what if he's a little tall and too gorgeous - they're hardly terrible grievances! Anywho, Jackman nailed the character in the X-films, so I have every faith in this movie
