The new issue of Empire magazine has this new promo photo of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, opening May 1, 2009. Directed by Gavin Hood from a David Benioff, the action-thriller co-stars Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, Will.i.am, Danny Huston, Dominic Monaghan, Daniel Henney and Lynn Collins.

Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

looks like Wolverine alright...

Pretty disapointing. Want to see more. Not a very good tease to show us the same thing weve seen in three movies already.

I wonder how they are gonna make Hugh Jackman look younger since this is about a younger Wolverine.

Posted by: SpiderJiba on July 6, 2008 at 02:26:54

very nice... it better not suck as bad as X3

This was already mentioned on one of the other Wolverine topics by a different poster.

Why SHH!, delete my quote? It was less offensive than most of the post you leave listed.

They don't have to make Logan look younger. As stated in "X-Men", "He might even be as old as the professor."
Logan has a long life span. He could possibly be older than Charles Xavier!

agree w/ Zach...we've seen these types of wolverine promos a lot before...why won't they show something cool and newer? I truly hope this turns out a good movie cuz wolverine and his story is great so it deserves a good movie.

I swear those claws get thicker with every movie...

Posted by: MD on July 6, 2008 at 02:37:55

Thanks for clarifying things up Shi Don Yu. Logan possibly as old as Professor Xavier! WOW!

Apparently some of y'all are not up to date with the Wolverine lore :p

Wolverine (James Howlett at the time) was born somewhere in the late 1800s soooooo he IS older than the prof.

Posted by: FireFly's Enigma on July 6, 2008 at 02:45:05

He is way older than Professor X. He's well over 100 years plus. James was born in the late 19 century. I hope they don't go that far back in the movie. I say...use that in future films.

There is a scene of a young James...flashback, I hope!

Loxley: "I swear those claws get thicker with every movie..."

I was sort thinking the same thing... but maybe this is how Logan ages, the rest of him stays buff but his claws get a little paunchy around the middle, curl up a bit more at the end... :P

Posted by: SpideyFreak on July 6, 2008 at 03:47:09

they should make the movie poster like iron man's. Showing wolverine and all of the characters in the movie.

Posted by: isshiah on July 6, 2008 at 04:14:05

I'd like to see him use his bone claws a bit before the weapon X procedure.

Posted by: unreal101 on July 6, 2008 at 04:20:02

First Millionth!!!! Surprised that none of you noobs said first, Haha!

Just pulling y'allz leg. Now this movie looks promising.. not like that Dragonball crap.

Posted by: junq on July 6, 2008 at 04:20:19

no offense...this stinks. I've never liked the hugh jackman wolverine, but regardless this doesn't look like a teaser so much as a still shot from X2 or something.

Posted by: matt on July 6, 2008 at 05:56:09

DEADPOOL!!!!!!

Posted by: spideytracer on July 6, 2008 at 06:00:10

I agree with junq....it even looks like he has the same vest on! ROFL. I love Wolverine, but as far as I'm concerned, the character has never been truly portayed on the big screen. In my opinion Jackman is too tall, too handsome and not feral enough. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one. And since this is a flashback, telling the origin, I'm wondering if we're gonna see the bone claws.

Posted by: The Goon on July 6, 2008 at 06:19:04

Maybe they should pull a WANTED. forget weapon x, forget the mining community and the war. Make it a 19 century love story. Old hugh can reprise his role from Kate & Leopold. Who wants superheroes in a movie anyway?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
