On top of the new SCREAM 2008 Awards teaser, Warner Bros. Pictures has debuted the new teaser poster for Watchmen, opening in conventional theaters and IMAX on March 6. Directed by Zack Snyder, the big screen adaptation Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Carla Gugino, Stephen McHattie and Matt Frewer.
The teaser poster also reveals the film's MPAA rating. It's been rated R for graphic violence, sexuality, nudity and language.
A complex, multi-layered mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed-up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity...but who is watching the watchmen?

THATS AWESOME! Since it is rated R already by the mpaa, does that mean they rated the 2hr 43 minute cut?!?!?! So will it be 2 hours and 40 minutes!?!?!

If the movie is every bit as exciting as the graphic novel, I'll love it...except the ending unless they change it, which I doubt.

I hated the two Snyder's movies I've seen so far ("Dawn of the Dead" and "300"), but we'll see. Maybe this one will be worth it. The fact that it's a R-rated movie is a good point.

I;ve never read the comic, but the movie looks awesome. Anyone that thinks is going to gross like $300 million is crazy. It may make $150 million. R rated movies have a tough time making lots of money because only a certain amount of people will see it. And whoever the ROBERT DOWNEY JR person is that posted that Iron Man is the best movie ever is an idiot, it was good but nowhere near The Dark Knight.

Doesn't excite me much. I'm sure it doesn't do justice to the movie, assuming it will be good, which I'm assuming it will be.

Rated R. SWEET!!!! Nudity. SWEETER!!! It better be female nudity. I don't want another mishap like in TROY where the nudity scene turns out to be Brad Pitt's ass!!!
