Sweet. Never heard of the magazine (probably because it's foreign), but the covers are cool.

i hope fox's doesn't hold up the movie with their legal issues. that would be a tragedy, this looks fantastic and snyder is on the money.

Awesome pictures to put on if when each of these heroes dead. BTW how does that Rorschach breath under that mask. I felt awful for him.

So far it looks pretty faithful to the source material. I just finished the graphic novel about a week ago, and I was impressed. Hopefully the movie will do it justice.

I don't know if Dr. Manhattan's look is effective; for instance, the man has no hair on his entire body, but for some reason still has eyebrows? And I know that those dark circles around his eyes are in the comic, but that's only a device to center focus on his mood. In that picture they don't seem to serve much purpose, or conform to his face in any anatomically reflective manner. And thirdly, the hydrogen atom on his forehead looks, and I don't mean this to be funny, but...photoshopped onto his head. It is certainly only my outlook, but I always saw the symbol as being a burn/brand into his blue skin (which is why is steams when he draws it there), and so I'd imagine it to be either raised or indented a bit. This seems to be neither, but again, that's only my interpretation.
Gosh, I'd love to see the transitions on rorschach's mask, wouldn't you? The way the black changes shape and all? So cool.
I wonder if Silk Spectre intentionally applies fake eyelashes in the film, because, well...they don't look real to me in that picture. But malin ackerman is very pretty, nonetheless, and either way I sure hope she performs to the task. Laurie would be a tough role, I think, for even a seasoned actress.
Despite these fairly minor observations, I have faith that this picture will be great. Anybody else?

I think the Dr. Manhattan cover looks insanely awesome and beautiful. How do you know how much hair he has on his body? He'd look weird without eyebrows.
I love the look.

Matt Triano, seriously dude did you see 300? the movie was and still is flawless even in hi def. Zach Snyder is the next james cameron so back off! All this nit-picking really sounds childish. Have faith in the man who brought us great pictures like dawn of the dead and 300! I'm tired of everyone bashing on this movie! It will deliver, so give it a @$%8ing chance and don't kill the ever building hype!

Yeah trailer looks great but if Fox(who has right for a watchman movie) dont take waner brothers offer, Snyders movie will never see the light of day, well maybe on bootleg acourse. Seems like Warner Brothers have offers Fox much money but they have yet to accepted any offers. Looks like no one will be watching the Watchmen if this legal battle keeps up.

matt triano, from one nerd to another, you are too nerdy for my liking

They should have made an owl cover too.

Watchmen is crap. Amateur writing with plot, story and characters taken from other properties and then cut and pasted together to confuse the reader. Filled with ideas(stolen from other writers in classic Moore style) that ramble on and on that don't relate to the plot and don't move the story a long. Flashback after Flashback and pointless exposition after page of pointless exposition.
Super hero comics are like the WWE level of entertainment and Alan Moore is the Wrestlemania. It will never be real so go read some real comics because this superhero nonsense is making a joke of the medium.

Vince Mcmahon and Alan Moore are brothers I think. The only difference between them is that Alan Moore despises his fans and Vince loves his.
Posted by: Anti Alan Moore! on August 26, 2008 at 04:17:29
Super Heros work better on film than in Comics because films are made by competent story tellers and Super Hero comics are written by retards!
Watchmen fans are idiots who cling to this mediocre trash like a religious cult because they are paranoid about reading children's books.

nice!
but... where's NightOwl and Veidt?
Posted by: arivin923 on August 26, 2008 at 05:27:23
wow 'anti alan moore' is a total douche! lmao
the guy has probably never read a page of watchmen in his life; he's probably acting like he's on his period because he's some jackass whos never gotten his junk touched by another human being because he's such an ass
btw, awsome covers

Bart Simpson sounds retarded for springing to defend Zach Snyder for intensely minor costume design gripes. It's not like matt expressed anything other than his opinion that it looked off to him. He even said he thought Rorschach was a source of interest for him, thus is clearly not attacking anything in the movie.
Maybe pull your face out of Snyder's lap long enough to actually read the post.

Anti Alan Moore:
I collected every book of the series in it's first run back in the eighties! You sound like some kind of "retarded idiot" who has never laid eyes on the book! "Watchmen" just happens to be one of the greatest graphic novels ever published! Can't understand your problem with "Watchmen", but you need to 'read it first' before you judge it!
Can you even read? Perhaps you have someone writing for you?
Posted by: Tommy Kai on August 26, 2008 at 07:19:41
I'll start by saying I'm a fan of the watchmen and think this movie looks and sounds great. Appreciation of his work aside, I'd be hesitant to call anyone "the next james cameron" if all they've shown me were adaptations and remakes. AGAIN, not bashing, just saying let's wait and see what he does when he's got an original script before we start calling him "visionary" or, I don't know, the second coming of Christ.

Anti-Alan Moore -
You do realise that a lot of film writers also do superhero comic writing and vise versa?
To be honest, there are probably an equal percentage of bad writers in both mediums. Thats not to say you have to watch films or read comics, but I prefer to watch a film AND read super hero comics and enjoy them both, that way I don't lose out on enjoyment because of some ignorant prejudice against a medium.
