Oooh Lala! Pin-Up of Watchmen's Sally Jupiter
Source:James Jean
July 21, 2008

James Jean created this illustration for the Watchmen movie that can be seen briefly in the trailer. He writes on his site:

At 1:32 into the Watchmen trailer, you can see a glimpse of an illustration I did for the movie. Alex McDowell asked me to create a Vargas-esque portrait of Sally Jupiter, played by Carla Gugino. It only appears for 1 second in the trailer, but the illustration is supposed to play a larger role in that particular scene.

No bra, Sally? Sheesh, I really don't blame the Comedian's actions now. :P

wtf... you can see her boobs -_-'

Posted by: seven on July 21, 2008 at 18:15:35

lol...I never was a fan of Watchmen but this movie will not go over with people who are not fans or familiar with the Watchmen.

It will do okay at the BO...but it won't be as good as The Dark Knight. Everyone knows the name of Batman...but does anyone know who Night Owl is? No.

mmmmm yea. bob_$ for the win...

Nice, Entertainment Weekly has a nice write up on the movie and the little changes they made to it if anyone is interested. Went into some other Comic Con stuff as well.

it's art, not porn.

heheheheh....

I think "seven" is right to a certain extent.

A lot of people not familiar with the story are going to expect a typical superhero action flick and will therefore be a bit disappointed.

However, based on what we've seen in the trailer, I think Jack Snyder has been faithful enough to the original graphic novel to please the real fans and will have enough cool visuals and special effects and action to please most of the masses.

***** catcher, you're a *****. "The Watchman" is not a superhero. It's called "The Watchmen" as is many people. You're an idiot. Don't criticize something unless you know what the hell you're talking about.

well, if you want to get technical, its just called "Watchmen." I'm not taking sides, just pointing that out.

Posted by: The Watchman on July 21, 2008 at 18:36:10

Don't listen to Moloch, ***** Catcher! Now let's get back to Watchmen Headquarters and meet up with The Watchmen! I think Dr. No-Watch is up to his old tricks! To the Watchmobile!

Hot

This movie is going to be incredible. And James Jean is a phenomenal artist. His rendering of Sally Jupiter is true to Varga's pin-up style.

This is why I love redheads. Wow

Well that's just fantastic...

to batman-para-siempre:
please read the graphic novel "watchmen" BEFORE you see the film. alan moore is the writer. dave gibbons is the artist. watchmen is one of those graphic novels that someone, sooner or later, would try 2 recreate as a film simply bcuz it is so good. as u read it ,it plays like a film in your head. but the experience of reading watchmen will allow u 2 digest the ideas behind it on a much deeper level. and u will appreciate the film that much more (assuming it IS a good adaptation of the work)

you could actually see her nipples!

The problem with Watchmen is the same problem with alot of Moore's writing. He spends too much time having characters just sit around and talk. While this may be fine for a comic, when you are dealing with a movie it just doesn't work. This is why it sounds like to appeal to more of a mass audience they are pumping up the action. As to whether that will work, it could go either way. ala V for Vendetta vs. LXG. No one knows Watchmen outside the comic book community, so will anyone care regardless. Honestly, I myself don't even really care.

BTW About the Poster: D@mn she got big +i++ies!

Posted by: Metal Mike on July 21, 2008 at 19:43:21

Oh Yeah....lovely nipples....lovely legs.

The Watchmen may not do as good as Batman at the BO but I think we will all be supprised at how well it will do. Let's just say, it's being done by the same guy who did 300 and we all know how huge that turned out to be. Just that alone makes we want to check it out. I think it's going to be stunning.

You know what else, unlike Batman TDK, Watchmen will actually have a plot and character development. The only character development in TDK that was of any interest was Batman and Gordon, everyone else either didn't get enough time or they were tooo flat (aka, 2-face and Joker). 2-face was actually 2-face for like what, 30 seconds. And we learned nothing about the Joker. Don't get me wrong, Heath did a great job but once again no character development. If you don't believe me ask yourself 1 question...what did you learn about the joker? Other then he is crazy, absolutely nothing.

Really quick, I would like to counter comment "Seven" remark above. If not knowing the characters makes a bad movie, why did Batman Begins do so well. The villians were Raz and Scarecrow. Not well known Batman villians by the general public but BB was fantastic. Why? Character development...and that is exactly why watchmen will do better then you think "Seven" at the BO.
