New Watchmen Photo!
Source:Zack Snyder
February 20, 2008

Watchmen director Zack Snyder has posted a new Blog about the end of filming for the highly-anticipated big screen adaptation of the graphic novel. He's included this new show featuring Rorschach from the film, which you can view in hi-res by clicking it below!

That's a wrap!

I promise to refrain from getting too sentimental, but I want to take a moment to say thanks to the Watchmen cast & crew. You have all been phenomenal. It has been quite an experience and I could not have done it without the hard work and determination of each and every one of you. A film adaptation of Watchmen has been in the works for almost 20 years and thanks to you, it is finally in the can. It has been such a pleasure to be surrounded by a team that is so dedicated and that has given 110% each and every day. I am extremely grateful for the level of attention to detail put forth by each department to capture all of the texture that makes Watchmen the incredibly unique property that it is. Although we still have a lot of work to do in post, the shoot has been an experience I will not soon forget!

Thank you,

Zack

P.S. While I'm in the process of thanking people, I figure it's a good time to say thanks to the Watchmen fans for all of their continued support. Since the crew got wrap gifts, I figured you deserved a little something as well. So, to bring a little closure to the previous "Storyboard" blog, I've included a frame from the film that shows what it looks like when it all comes together. Thanks!

This was one of my single most favorite panels in the entire book. Looking good to me.

Wow! Seeing Rorschach in action actually has me looking forward to the movie...GAR! Now I can only hope that they have done their jobs and delivered a movie WORTH watching that sticks to the nearly-flawless source material. Let's NOT have another League of Extraordinary Gentlemen shall we?

I still can't believe I'm going to be seeing this movie in the theaters. I never thought it would get made. I'm anxious for a trailer and to see how the story has been adapted for the film. Watchmen wasn't just a comic book or graphic novel, but a seminal piece of literature. I'm sure Moore will be spouting his usual venom when a film based on his work is released, but I think Zack Snyder wants to do justice to the original story.

I hope The Curse of Alan Moore doesn't apply. I respect Zack a lot and I wouldn't want him to fall on his face.

Yeah, that definetly is Rorschach walking past Nixon. But now we atleast see his mask a bit better.

Looks awesome. they seem to be doing it old school as well as in not a lot of cgi but actually building sets and stuff which is always better. fingers crossed

Holy hell! Looks like it was ripped right out of the comic!

Nice. I think this is the scene when Rorshach fight the cops before he gets captured.

Anyone hear anything about the lawsuit some other studio is or was filing against this flick. Some sort of Rights issue if I recall.

Hate to see Watchmen get sunk because of a piece of paperwork.

Alan "Mayor of Crazytown" Moore said it himself that David Hayter's Watchmen script is "not that bad" and coming from Moore, that's huge compliment. Also, all the people who read the script say it's a best comic-book adaptaions thay have read...i gatta say i'm not suprised since Hayter wrote the first "x-men" flick and is the offspring of Big Boss, the brother of Liquid and a friend to Grey Fox.

Dang! It looks like they even got the gloves right!

Posted by: Gan on February 20, 2008 at 17:30:32

Thats the secret formula ! get the costumes right out from the comic book ....

Posted by: horatiorome on February 20, 2008 at 22:16:22

I must say this pic looks terrific. When will they learn that the closer you stay to the source material the better it is all around? This looks to be dead on. I sincerly hope the rest of the movie, as well as the other superhero costumes are as faithfull as this picture appears to be.

i remember this part. Rorschach went crazy and started killing those cops. haha. good stuff, can't wait.

Posted by: ken on February 20, 2008 at 22:39:11

Wow it really sucks!!!

Posted by: Cliff on February 20, 2008 at 22:39:46

Hrrrm... This movie is going to be great. I realize a lot will need to be edited to fit in a film, but this scene looks true to the graphic novel

This was even creepy in the novel, i cant wait to see it in film.
