Bekmambetov Prepares Wanted 2
June 13, 2009
Russian newsite RIA Novosti had a chance to talk to that country's biggest filmmaker Timur Bekmabetov recently, and he told them that he has started preparations on making the sequel to the 2008 summer hit Wanted and that they've found a way to bring Angelina Jolie's character back.
Talking about the tentatively-titled Wanted 2, Bekmambetov told them, "In July we will start preparation for the film. I think in the late autumn or winter shooting will be performed. The shooting will take place in America, India and Russia."
Besides Jolie's character, Fox, Bekmambetov hopes to bring back the character played by Kostya Khabenskiy, who also starred in Bekmambetov's breakout films Night Watch and Day Watch, as well as introducing new characters. The sequel reportedly has a $150 million budget, which is the biggest Hollywood production made by a Russian filmmaker, and Bekmambetov will once again have Russian crew involved in all aspects of production.

I actually liked the movie more than the book. So I'll be looking forward to part two ad to see how they bring back Angelina's character

Agree with Lobo. The problem with the book is that is they made this society whom practically could get away with everything; almost like an Illuminati or something and it seemed like Millar was trying to be a wannabe Alan Moore. On the contrary, I wouldn't mind seeing ****wit in a movie. Just keep the other supervillains out.
And how the hell are they going to bring back Fox? She committed suicide.

can you survive being shot in the head?
Posted by: TheWhyteMan on June 13, 2009 at 15:46:41
Actually she comes back as a cyborg with past memories and artificial intelligence. Most of her body will be intact except for her boobs. They will be technologically advanced.
However they use Microsoft Vista ad the operating system for her mother board so she keeps crashing to Wesley Gibson's delight.

The first movie was so over-the-top, unrealistically unsuspenseful master of disaster!
Turned it off in 10 mins! Waste of freaking movie!

uhh she got shot in the head...

while i didn't hate the movie, i really wish it had at least been more faithful to the book in terms of the overall plot and characters. They basically just took the general premise and made a completely different story. I don't understand why they even bothered calling it "wanted." If they make a few a more nods to the book in this one like maybe having wesley wear his costume and bringing in a villain like mr. rictus or something it might actually be good.
Posted by: first! is a TOOL!! on June 13, 2009 at 16:12:33
There, I'm the first to say that "first!" is a tool. Get a life.
Wanted was entertaining - personally I expected it to be unrealistic (that's right Dorthy, I went in knowing that a person can't "bend" bullets). If the new one delivers the same crazy action, then hurrah! I'll spend $20 (yah, my wife liked the first one too). As for bringing back Jolie...myeh, there's plenty of other actresses out there that don't live on a celery diet that would be great in an action role.

Am I the only one who thought the 1st one was cheesy & unbelievable. Now they've even stretched possibility by bringing Angelina Jolie back for the sequel even tho she died in the last one.

Well, they can curve bullets, then they can do anything!
Anyway, James McAvoy isn't a box office guy, and Angelina Jolie is. Besides, she's hot in this movie.
BTW, I liked Wanted and I'll see Wanted 2.

I love Wanted,good news.
OFFTOPIC
Why dont people like the idea of Angellina as Catwoman?
At any rate,I vote for Emily Blunt,if she was good enough to nearly become Black Widow. Then she should definately be Catwoman. Has anybody seen the trailer for the new Arkham movie?

I will see the movie only if Jolie gains weight. Otherwise I will LISTEN to the movie, and ask for half my money back. No...wait! I'll humm to myself, so I can't hear the movie...then they will have to give me a FULL refund. Than I can trash the movie here.
I just want to be part of the group.

Mark Millar manages to write one decent comic in 20 years and it gets turned into a generic Matrix ripoff. Mouth breathers go see it in droves so now we get a part 2. If the moviegoing audience is this dumb, we deserve everything we get.

Dear Mr. Bekmambetov,
I really enjoyed your movie "Wanted," and felt that it was the quintessential summer movie. It had everything -- car chases, special effects, gun battles, good acting, all-star cast, inventiveness, and Angelina Jolie's wonderful buxom bottom.
My only wish is that instead of giving us another shot of Angelina Jolie's buxom bottom, you give us a shot of her magnificent and juicy milkbags. I know I sound like a loser, but the thing about me is that... well, I am. But I am what they like to call a Class IV Loser and not anything above like many of the people here.
That being said, if your plan is to revive her character through the candle bath technique seen in the first film, then more power to you. Just have her emerge in slow motion with her amazing milkbags taking up the entire 2.35:1 widescreen ratio. If you do this, you will be my favorite director and the most wonderful human being on the face of this planet. My hand is waiting. I love you. *tears off piece of hair from scalp* As an offering of my friendship and love to you, here is a sampling of my hair. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Senorashish

Dear Mr. Millar,
I really enjoy your work and have been a fan of yours since your work on DC/Vertigo's "Swamp Thing" in the mid-1990's.
But I was hit with the alarming news that Grant Morrison acted as a Ghost Writer, writing the scripts for you and you getting the official credit for it. Is this true? If so, then I love it and I'm glad to see that you have such a wonderful relationship with Mr. Morrison.
And since both of you have such a great relationship, can you get Mr. Morrison to ghostwrite a nude scene in this movie for Ms. Jolie? I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. *Pulls out nosehair* Here is an offering of my love and friendship to you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Senorashish

Jolie was killed on the first one. What the Fuc* ?? Bringer back?? And i hope that we can see the Wanted guy on full costume. It's amazing.

Actually, yes...you can survive a shot to the head.
Besides, they already stated that these individuals were more than mere humans. So for those *****ing that it was "over the top", pay more attention to the movie.
I liked it, hopefully the second one will be good too. By the way, get over the obsessive nudity thing....I mean you people act like you've never seen a naked woman before.

I'm looking forward to seeing Wanted 2 when it comes out. Wanted was a blockbuster movie I don't care what negative comments are thrown on here. James McAvoy is like a bad butt Tobey Maguire who can shoot guns in an R-rated movie. Angelina Jolie is just as cool, sexy and bad girl as she was playing, Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.

If Alex Murphy (RoboCop) can survive 1000 bullets to the body and 1 bullet to the head...then Angellina can survive THAT.
