On December 2, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release Wanted in stores on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The thriller, starring James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Terence Stamp, Thomas Kretschmann, Common and Angelina Jolie, will be available in several home entertainment versions, including single-disc widescreen and full frame DVD editions, 2-disc Special Edition DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def versions, and deluxe collector's sets.
Superhero Hype! has your exclusive first look today at a clip from the bonus features - a sneak peek at the "Wanted" video game coming out next year! The clip compares the sequences from the movie to the game and can be watched using the player below.
The "Wanted" video game will feature intense third-person action, taking combat to a new level with iconic moves -- such as "curving bullets" and "Assassin Time" -- drawn directly from the film, as well as an innovative, multi-layered cover mechanic. The storyline of the game will pick up where the movie leaves off, providing fans with another chapter to explore both Wesley Gibson's journey into becoming an uberassassin and the epic fiction of the Fraternity.

Unlike the movie, I think this game could be epic.

This game is going to be no good. The movie was awesome, but the game is going to fail.

I think it deserves a chance, seems ok.

Hope the game is better than the craptacular movie.

Movie was fun. I dunno nothing about the comic, but it entertained me and all whom I went with... and most of the people I spoke to about it.
The Dude, why so you feel it was "craptacular"?
Posted by: Xander Quinn on November 26, 2008 at 19:33:31
Wow. Underwhelmed.
The movie came out in the Summer, the DVD is coming out next week but the game isn't landing until sometime next year? WTF? Nothing about it screams 'new and amazing'; it has the same look and feel of a thousand games before it. So why is it coming out at a time when there will be little to no hype to help drive sales?
This makes about as much sense as if they decided to release an "I Am Legend" game next week from the Will Smith movie, or an "Indiana Jones / Crystal Skull" game in three months. Try working on your timing next time guys.

Geez' guys if you're going to use 'sneak peek' try 'n spell it right...hell we've been going back and forth with this since 2001...

Why would they bother to make this game? Wouldn't it have been better if they made the game from the graphic novel. Now that would have been something worth purchasing. I can see this thing being sold with a special edition of the movie.

God this movie suxx so bad, if it wasn't 4 Angelina Jolie I wouldn have waisted time on this Crap.
Posted by: BigKnGa on November 26, 2008 at 22:43:43
this movie was awesome and it apparently has influenced other movies in it's cinematic style. too bad they strayed so far from the novel. i doubt i will play this game.

Wow, this looks like that Matrix videogame for Nintendo gamecube. This would have worked alot better as a first person shooter. Kinda like Rid**** or FEAR with the first person drop kicks. Oh well another good example of a movie turned game that might suck imagine that..good thing games into movies work well...wait...what am I saying?

I wished they would have followed the book more closely. Other than that if this movie wasn't called "Wanted" and it wasn't supposedly based from the Graphic Novel I would've liked it better. Honestly I have no interest in the game or movie. Can't believe Miller let them do that. But Money talks I guess.

@180proof
Dude, you're gonna luv this. He sold the right to the book and they are making a f'n sequel.
MUNNY DOES TALK IN WHORRYWOOD!

NOT A TUMOR, are you serious, he sold the rights? Mark Millar is a great story-teller, but a total sell out! game look good, though.

I'd like to smack that guy as he talks about how badly the movie and the videogame are different than the original book while smiling.
I got over how badly the movie diverted from the book, but playing a game that was like the book in that you could have been a bad guy and that was the whole point of the game... that would have been amazing.

Games based on movies are usually medoicre to bad. It's because they are just driven for commercial purposes without much quality and graphics. I look at some of the ingame graphics, not the cgi cut scenes, and it's just plain bad by today's standards.
The game makers already know that it's going to sell because they have a big name blockbuster movie to back the title up. If they were making this game and called it anything else, it would suck big time.
I know it's early, and I hope I'm wrong, but usually this is the case with games based on movies.

that was weak

Wow, that looked really horrible. There is nothing there that I haven't seen in 100 other FPS games. I enjoyed the movie, but there are cinematic things in a movie that you can enjoy that don't translate to a game. I agree with you, George A., that it looks bad, but I also agree with the others that this game is way too chronologically removed from the movie to make anyone get excited about it. Oh, and I love the "look, we let you run around in the dilapidated empty room where the loom was". Big freaking deal. The movie was forgotten, the game will be too.

Harish, I wnet to see Wanted back in June or August this year and I think that the film was epic. Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman all played their roles respectfully. James McAvoy is around my age he looks like Tobey Maguire except he has the bad boy don't mess with me attitude as opposed to Tobey Maguire's cry baby attitude on the Spiderman movies. It, was okay for him to be emotional who doesn't feel that way when they love their relatives. But, to just cry about everything is insulting to the character Spiderman he gets over his sad emo feelings and covers it with vengeance. He, did do that in all 3 films even when the black alien symbiote took over his life.

The Dude How can you post here that Mark Millar's Wanted was Craptacular and you say that you hope the game is better than the movie. Don't you realize that if the movie fails the game will most likely fail. But, that is not alway's the case look at Constantine in 2005 and Superman Returns in 2006. Constantine the game was terrible but, Superman Returns the demo game was stellar 10 stars, The actual game was average but suire did feel like a game near 10. There, is a new Superman game in development but euntil then enjoy Superman in Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe and DC Universe Online.

Uh, people are defending this piece of ****? And you guys thought Quantum of Solace was bad?
Posted by: andrew on December 1, 2008 at 00:34:24
i dont get why the action in the film bothers people so much.
its pure fantasy, just like the matrix.
if you would have anything to complain about it would have to be the script.

I don't know why people can't sit back and enjoy the ride. I'm a professional marksman. It's what I do for a living and I had no problem with the movie bending the laws of "shooting". I know for a fact that certain parts of the movie can never ever happen in real life but I liked it anyway. It's a popcorn flick. Get over it.
Posted by: Guy in a suit on December 1, 2008 at 23:37:22
So, by professional marksman, you mean you play Halo every night?
Posted by: Tommy on December 2, 2008 at 07:18:00
No, I mean I'm sponsored and enter contests to shoot targets that are very, very far away. And I make a damn good living off of it if you must know. Such a good living that I do not need a day job. So like I said, I'm a professional because it is my profession.
