Not a bad movie

The special edition cover is reallllly terrible. Especially that poor, poor photoshop of McAvoy. Then again, the movie sucked even worse.

Posted by: Rany on October 15, 2008 at 11:52:28

Nice, probably going for the 2 disc special edition DVD

Posted by: APCrazy on October 15, 2008 at 12:02:17

Probably gonna pass on this DVD. Can't say that I was overly fond of the movie. Fight scenes were cool and all but it wasn't anywhere close to the original storyline of the comics. How could they change the storyline that much?

Most of all, where was the monkey he befriend on the isle where he learn to drague his gun???

Posted by: cask8er87 on October 15, 2008 at 12:28:19

As a graphic designer myself...i can honestly say these are crap designs. Theres nothing catchy or artistic about them at all. The movie was ok for being just a movie in general, but these covers shoould have been done better. They look very unprofessional, they look like they were done by an amateur.

Universal, if you want better-looking covers in the future. Drop me a line. No joke.

Posted by: Matt on October 15, 2008 at 12:50:27

Good lord these are awful and very amateur. is that even Angelina Jolie on the special edition?

Posted by: Robcasso on October 15, 2008 at 12:50:47

That Rigid/Set-Up Box set in the acetate case is a novel idea - but I gotta agree with ask8er87. The Graphics blow big monkey chunks.

What the deuce Universal?

Posted by: Doctor Who on October 15, 2008 at 13:16:29

Honestly, universal doesn't have time to make a good design for dvd covers, they gotta keep up with the rest of hollywood and make a movie out of EVERY GRAPHIC NOVEL KNOWN TO MAN.They gotta get the movie out, then sell the dvd's, designs and stuff don't matter.

Posted by: Gelogurte on October 15, 2008 at 13:18:42

APCrazy, the writers wrote the script based on the first issue alone. It was the only one published when Universal bought the rights. They made some changes after the rest of the mini-series came out but it was already very different from the original storyline.

Oh, yeah, and all the covers suck bigtime. The theatrical posters sucked too. The movie was just OK, plot holes asside.

Posted by: IT'S NOT A TUMOR on October 15, 2008 at 13:24:06

I've read the graphic novel and thought it was great, but I've heard the movie really differs from the book.

Is the movie really that bad?

Posted by: DavidTennant4TheRiddler on October 15, 2008 at 13:34:53

Honestly though, the designs aren't that important. If TDk had a picture of christian bale eating a sandwich it would still sale one trillion units. Its only because Wanted sucked that the designs are important

Posted by: Enrico on October 15, 2008 at 14:07:43

Great movie!!! One of the best of the summer.

Posted by: Matt P on October 15, 2008 at 14:17:28

i don't know why you peeps be hatin. I thought the movie was action, mostly because of the action. I wasn't impressed by the posters for this movie or these covers now tho. I think the posters came from TDK where they really had some awesome designs and concepts. When i get the DVD tho, i'm buying it for the movie tho, not the cover so i don't really care. i'm still getting the movie cause it rocked

Posted by: Matt P on October 15, 2008 at 14:18:21

awesome*, mostly because of the action.

Posted by: Adam Krowsko on October 15, 2008 at 15:19:53

the graphic novel was better than the movie.

Posted by: Stuntman Spivey on October 15, 2008 at 16:22:37

This movie was pretty good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. These dvd covers do need to be polished up a little bit though. I am anticipating the release of this movie. We all know that everybody will anticipating something MUCH BIGGER the week that follows.

Posted by: nelson on October 15, 2008 at 16:24:46

movie isn't bad people just don't like that its not like the novel if they had changed the name of movie people wouldn't *****

Posted by: union_jak on October 15, 2008 at 16:40:57

Wanted is released in the UK on the 20th October (I will have my copy this Saturday). Why the delay for Americans?

Posted by: TheMechanic on October 15, 2008 at 16:58:21

Maybe it's just me, but even if Wanted felt like a Matrix rip-off...I gotta admit, I liked it better than The Matrix!

Posted by: Film Ninja on October 15, 2008 at 17:04:16

I'm glad other see this packaging as crap since that's all it is. Just the usual bland Photoshopped crapola.

Posted by: Zahin on October 15, 2008 at 17:30:20

WOW !! Its like they are using Angelina Jolie's face to advertise the movie..

Altough the last pic with the plastic case with a bullet hole looks cool...but it makes this movie look like it won 10 orcars or something :P

Posted by: Black Knight on October 15, 2008 at 18:25:59

Angelina Jolie is my mona lisa.

Can't wait.

Thank you SHH!!

Posted by: Cy-Ed on October 15, 2008 at 20:50:49
