I think "quantity director" is about right, ROTF was the longest commercial I've ever seen.

Not the most awe-inspiring story I've ever seen, but probably the most visually stunning. As a TF fan, I'm glad it's doing well.

The end of The Dark Knight's reign is coming.
Okay... But how about Titanic's still yet-to-be-broken record? By the way, as with Titanic, this just proves that the general movie-going audience has officially gone to the crapper.

By the way, before you insecure fanboys start insulting my (ahem) "poor taste in movies", Yes, I *did* enjoy the movie (hey, I can enjoy mindless ones every now and then), but this is just ridiculous!

For sure it'll end up between 850 to 900 million by the time it ends its run in theaters.

Gone with the wind is the top money earner of all time if you would count for inflation to today, Gone with the wind still eclipses Titanic so if you count for inflation movies need to make over 900 million usa to get top money earner dark knight was no where near that so stop with all this crap count for the times and you get the true money earner

I think I fooled myself into liking this movie when I saw it, now that I look back, it was pretty dumb..I feel like the message Bay is actually sending to the audience is...you are all idiots and your stupidity makes me rich suckas.

Ummm Dark Knight earned 900 million DOMESTICALLY. ROTF will not get within 300 million of that number.
Posted by: Umm on July 19, 2009 at 23:25:30
The Dark Knight did not make $900 million domestically. "Domestic" means the U.S. and Canada. That take was north of $500 million. The WORLDWIDE box office take was over $1 billion.

Check your source.

my bad it's domestic was $533,345,358. I still don't see ROTF earning that much in it's theatrical release.

This movie wasn't just "mindless." It was hands down the worst movie I've paid money to see in five years. Bad bad bad bad BAD.

Renoray, How is Michael Bay a quality director. Is he really trying to collect assets from Transformers. You, sound very judgemental and discriminating. Man Of Steel what's up buddy ready for more Superman film adventure lets hope Warner Brothers, DC Comics and Legendary Pictures can get the sequels started. Umm, The Dark Knight made a massive killing Domestically it have to have made less than 900 Billion here in the US. 500 Million sounds about right but, yes it made over $ 1 Billion dollars so did Pirates Of The Carribean series with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Sod, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is $ 200 Million over the domestic $ 533,345,358 dollars you recorded from the Box Office results. You, say that you don't see it earning more than it's theatrical release you have already been proven wrong. TR:ROTF is $761.9 Million domestically here in the United States Of America. The Worldwide gross should be near the billion dollar range since the domestic gross is near $ 800 Million. I think you better strongly consider than Transformers is going to set a world record for 2009 as the first action-adventure film to get past $ 1 billion dollars. I would love to see video game movies get in the billions and Street Fighter is my first candidate. Mortal Kombat would be second I want to see how good Prince Of Persia and Tekken are going to do in 2010. Mmmmmmmm.....

I mean, really. If you "enjoyed" this movie, what the hell did you enjoy about it? Having your brains bludgeoned by the relentless barrage of noise? The endless "money shots" that ceased to be "money" because they just kept hammering away at whatever was left of your frontal lobe? Was it the choice character development that was realized by having actors yell their lines at each other from beginning to end?
Bad bad bad bad BAD.
Outside of Star Trek, there's not been a single decent geek movie all year. Is it 2010 yet?

WOW!!!! Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is near the $ 400 Million mark Internationally at $ 398 Million dollars that is amazing that is near half a million dollars. Reminds, me of Batman Begins and Superman Returns's International grosses in 2005 and 2006.
