Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Reaches $591.5M Worldwide!
July 5, 2009
ComingSoon.net has posted the weekend box office estimates which show that DreamWorks/Paramount's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has reached $591.5 million worldwide!
Domestically, the Michael Bay sequel grossed an estimated $42.5 million for the three-day holiday weekend. The film has grossed roughly $294 million in twelve days and will remain behind The Dark Knight in the race to $300 million, which it should cross tomorrow.
Internationally, the film added $55.3 million from 9,546 locations in 62 territories. Since it opened internationally June 19, "Revenge of the Fallen" has grossed $298 million overseas, just $91 million shy of the $389 million the 2007 original earned in its entire foreign run.

Good for everybody involved with this movie! I still think it was g*****n terrible.

I see that everyone loves this movie, but seem as if the ones who hates it were the one sitting up close with bad seats. where they have to keep turning there heads and miss everything. Which made everything so blurry. I saw it twice in the Imax, one with great seats and loved it, I was amazed by it all, and I saw everything. Then one with bad sitting in a huge conventional Imax built like a dome. I had to turn my head a lot and missed so much because everything was moving so fast. So I see this movie from 2 different perspectives and understand the negative reviews. .

This movie sucked. I dont see how its doing so good. i guess put in a bunch of explosives and a hotc hick and thats good enough. the first one was good. all the action was too blurry and had some real cheesy parts to it

Uptight movie critics, bad word-of-mouth and angry forum commentators (like the ones on this page) don't seem to be having any effect on the momentum. People said the movie would tank in it's second week, they were wrong, people are saying it'll tank again this week, they'll be wrong again, but they'll never admit that Michael Bay seems to know something no other director short of Nolan does: how to keep movie theaters from going out of business.

people who liked this movie are easily amused. there is a reason for the bad reviews. It sucked

The reason why this movie is making so much money is because the masses are ENTERTAINED by this film. Its not meant to be Oscar material. Like the source material, its gimmic is that there are giant robots fighting and transforming. Thats what the general public sees in the trailers and makes them want to see it, and this movie DELIVERS, just like the first.

What a dumb movie. Just goes to show you that the average movie goer isn't looking for substance in their movies; just mind numbing terrible stories with lots of explosions and cgi.

Horrible movie, I don't even know why anyone would think this movie deserved all the hype. Another blockbuster movie that sucked like Wolverine. Why can't movies be more like the Dark Knight?

Great well deserved for the single greatest action movie of 2009. when all else failed(wolverine and watchmen)this didnt and screw all the haters they probably are just going with the crowed. keep the money coming but i dont really want it to pass TDK because all though TROF was great it was no dark knight

This movie was much better then the first, more action, faster paced, more robots.
it deserves every penny and i cant wait for T3.
i do agree story was a little weak and i didnt like the female robot idea but other then that it was a summer blockbuster.

When I tell people I refuse to see this movie, or to give any of my money for it, they say, "Well then how do you know it sucks if you won't see it"? Same reason I know that if you stick your hand over fire, it's gonna burn. These movies were made to cater to the lowest common denominator, and working in retail, I know first hand that that is what the world is full of. If you enjoyed the movie, congratulations. I'm glad that ignorance is actually bliss. Like another poster said on another TF2 thread, "If you love ugly things, you'll really hate beauty."

Get a life you bunch of haters your just mad you can't do what Michael Bay is doing. If you don't like what he's doing then don't watch his movies. Just do something other than ***** and moan about how terrible this movie is...apparently someone likes it.

I don't know what's scarier: The fact that
people are still paying to see this movie, or
the fact that people feel the need to defend
this movie. Anyways, here's hoping
that "Transformers 3" will be equal, if not
better than the first film. But that's not
saying much either since the first film
sucked... but not as much as "Revenge Of The
Fallen."
