Transformers Up to $448.4 Million Worldwide

Paramount and DreamWorks' Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is close to becoming the highest-grossing film of the year at the worldwide box office in less than two weeks in release.
Through Tuesday, the film's global take was $448.4 million, says Variety. The current No. 1 title, Angels & Demons, which opened in mid-May, has grossed $469 million.
At the domestic box office, the Transformers sequel grossed $14.9 million Monday and $13.5 million Tuesday for a total of $228.4 million.
Overseas, Monday's grosses clocked in at $14 million, while Tuesday came in at $16 million for a foreign total of $220 million.
At that rate, the film should catch up with "Angels" by Friday, even with the day and date entry of 20th Century Fox's Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
"Transformers" is also expected to overtake Up ($255 million through Tuesday domestically) this weekend to become the biggest domestic grosser of 2009.

These are indeed, strange times.
I loved the first one, and thought I would enjoy this one the same if not more. What a disappointment.
How is this making so much money? Are people really that into the special effects?

I would have much rather seen "The Hurt locker" then this movie yesterday. I know that Locker is the better movie but unfortunately I live in Ohio.

Today marks the end of this. At our theater, 15 people showed up for Bayformers, over 100 for "Public Enemies"
Next up: Bayformers makes the most money at a 2:00 show on a cloudy day with the wind blowing North East. Another record broken by stupid people!

thouigh this page is to talk about the money tranformes has made haters keep on crying and now public enemies is thrown in the mix. i admit it. i to can go on about somthing that has to do with nothing about the money transformers made, but what's the point? as if some one said let's talk about how much we hate our lives and everything in it. because realy it's all i hear other than what the topic is about. so here i go. no brainer that public enemie is going to bring people ,will it make as much as transformers? NO. will ice age, in the long run maybe has a better chance than P.E. TRF 448.4 mill in just 7 day's. and now with 4th of july heading this sat angry and bitter haters that just cry to much will prob go see P.E twice if not three times hoping that TRF, get's blown out finaly. but i have this feeling TRF will keep on and overseas as well. lot's of people prob haven't had their chance to watch the M.BAY flick, and will be going no mater what people say. what perfect time and holliday to watch explosions and more explosions, it's going to be crazy and it's far from over, it's just begun. TRF will keep on going and though it might slow down still by the time it's finished playing at the movies no doubt it will bring in way more than any other movie this summer so that's my prediction or it could just come to a dead end. so people stop crying it was just a movie like it or not, has nothing to do with TDK, OR P.E. OR ICE AGE , so on and so on..why do we care how much money it makes? and if some people think DRAGONBALL EVOLUTION IS BETTER THAN TDK, so what??? this is an never ending argument in diference of opinion, instead of loging on and stay the course on the topic. we bring about stupid pointles pathetic and idiotic way's to just argue. i know i do and i love it, getting all the bat fans worked up realy it's funnn. but it all comes to an end and we all have to come back to planet nerd or geek landia loserville and hater hill's. it's done with, TRF IS THIS YEAR'S CHAMPION. bat's will have another chance and so will tranformers ,and x-men spider man ,iron man, thor, hulk, first avenger, green lantern ,green hornet, gi-joe, superman, and rumors of M.BAY taking on robotech... another cloverfield ,fredy's night mare, iron fist, karate kid ,well it never end's ... but for now the prime is king..

Er, Decent effects and decent movies aren't mutually exclusive. If You're into French movies with Bicycles, that's your choice, but if your favorite French Director places ET on the bike, look beyond the effects just like you look beyond the lame effects in a Doctor Who episode. Doctor Who has some great renderings at times, but usually horrible effects. Kids would call them lame. I look beyond that to the Story. Currently the Transformers is a 4.5 hour long story. We don't need character development and setting, and apologies for decent effects. We got that two years ago!
When you try to deny the effects, you churn out crap like the first Hulk. When you Embrace the genre, you come up with a much better movie like the second Hulk and Iron Man. You can't hide Masterpiece Theater in the Transformers 2.
There is no way to make Transformers without effects. Either the effects will be cheap Power rangers effects or awesome effects. I have a feeling that if Transformers 2 had cheap Power Rangers effects and/or mistakes in continuity galore, you would bash the movie even more.

the thing is. 2nd transformer movie was'nt that bad, (what MADE IT BAD) in my opinion to much screen time on sam ,his mom, his dad. who want to see some kid mom high on college campus?? then you have the 2 stereotype hip-hop gold teeth jive talking robots?? next you have a female humanoid decepticon?? (where did that technology come from??)...and jetfire and wheelie farting every few min. then when jetfire transported simmon,sam,malika and ramon whatever his character name was. to egypt how in the hell did sam's mom an dad get there?? bumblebee do not have that ability to transport. no taxi cab brought then there and they surely did not show a army helicopter landing and getting out. some bulldozer spit them out when was they capture to begin with??
watch the movie 5 times. last scene anyone saw them was on the campus ground so how in the hell was they capture?? by whom?? or what?? then you have DESVASTATOR he looked like a giant mechanical HOG!! with 2 1000 pound balls LOL devouring everything in sight just like a hog. another part I hated when optimus prime handed magatron his ass on a silver platter he cry out like a bit'h STARSCREAM!!

I believe what the TF fans want is something close to the cartoon show. more fighting, less interest in human contact. the movie should be about how the autobots going to save the world from decepticons....mom and dad was cool in the first movie but in the sec. and 3rd TF movie why?? IT'S TRANSFORMER!! not the story of how "sam witwicky mom got HIGH adventure"

I still cant get over the crappy looks of the robots (messed up erector sets) I think they could of been polished out a hell of alot better. Its like watching a babe with a hot body with an ugly face no matter how much you try you cant get passed it. What if Megan Fox's body had the head of rosie o'donald or andy **** could you still watch? What a waste of special effects. I mean look how bad Devestator looked....like wishing for a PS3 for christmas & getting a SegaCD instead!!!!

the other decepticons?? man that movie was moving so fast could not tell who was who?? and devastator?? my question is how did he get to the pyramid from the sand trap sucking up mudflap and everything? one min. he's there sucking up mudflap an next min. he's at the pyramid ripping it apart trying to uncover the sun killer machine.maybe the editors made boo-hoo mistakes putting scene's together. Im glad they had slo-mo cam on whew!! at lease it was slow enough to see whats going on for brief moment. and why did'nt bumblebee transform back into the camero going into the garage(earlier in the movie) at sams house after those tiny decepticons was made from the shared energon cube?? look like someone was rolling bumblebee body on wheels into the garage an suddenly cut that scene. all I can say they're is alot of mistakes, pot holes in this awful movie. micheal bay must been drunk with the editor finishing up this movie.

one positive good thing I can say:
TRANSFORMER 2 as horrible an horrific it is its a million time better than STREET FIGHTER THE LEGEND OF CHUNG LI
and corny as dragon ball evolution was it beat both and that's SAD!!!!!!!

The only reason TDK did so well was due to the death of ledger...period! The script and plot of the movie was crap...but the performances were high caliber...I will admit.

The plot to the movie was sweet. word from the academy awards is that when they were debating on best movie they werent sure what to do with the dark knight because they loved the performances and the plot so much. eventually because they only had a category for 5 movies they cut it and other movies.
T:ROTF isnt that bad its just alright. personally i told people i know to wait on it til dvd but with all this buzz more people will go and see it

Hey, Doogie! Get over yourself and grow up! This movie was for entertainment purposes only. Any dramatic or educational effect was unintentional. And for a movie to do that good at the box office, I don't think he is talentless. He makes more money than you and me combined, so Uwe Boll he is not!!!
