May 28, 2009
Reprise Records has officially announced that the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen soundtrack and score will be available on June 23:
Reprise Records will release the soundtrack to the hotly anticipated feature film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on June 23rd — the day before the film, the sequel to the 2007 Oscar®-nominated summer blockbuster Transformers, hits theaters nationwide.
The film's director and executive producer Michael Bay asked Warner Bros. Records' multiplatinum rock band Linkin Park to provide the sonic backdrop to the live-action robot fantasy film. Not only did the band write and record the film's theme song, entitled "New Divide," specifically for the soundtrack, they were also asked by Bay, Oscar®-winning composer Hans Zimmer, and award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky to contribute to the score. "New Divide" is currently available for purchase on iTunes.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Album also features music from Green Day (who contribute "21 Guns" — a song from their new album 21st Century Breakdown), Taking Back Sunday, The Used, The All-American Rejects, Cavo, The Fray, Staind, Nickelback, Cheap Trick and more.
In addition to the original soundtrack, Reprise will be releasing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: The Score, which will also be released on June 23rd.
Opening in theaters on June 24, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, starring Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro, will be Linkin Park's second project with Bay. The first Transformers film featured the band’s smash hit single "What I've Done," which rocketed to No. 1 on both Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts. The double-platinum-selling track was one of five top ten hit singles that appeared on the group’s most recent album, Minutes To Midnight, which sold more than six million copies.
In Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, debuting June 24, 2009, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) again joins with the Autobots® against their sworn enemies, the Decepticons®. Michael Bay directs from a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman. ...uh oh. Looks like another three songs and out-er. I loved 4 songs off of TF 1's soundtrack so....oh well.
Shouldn't this music be harder instead of all the soft indy rock feel?

I agree, music is total crap, I hate nu-metal (is this genre dead?) and all this pathetic rock garbage, soundtrack for the first movie was the holocaust for ears (Linkin Park, Mutemath, HIM, Taking back sunday, Idiot Pilot, Julien-K, Disturbed, and forgotten crying pussies Smashing Pumpkins and Go Go Dolls), and now we have Green Day, Nickelback, Theory of a Dead Man... NO!
IRON MAIDEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will buy Hans Zimmer produced film score.

At least the score will be available right away. Last time the movie score took like 5 months to hit the stores. The Soundtrack is utter craptastickfully crappy.
Kudos to Linkin Park tho for even having that opportunity. I'd love to have that.

Why is Hans Zimmer co-scoring? Jablonsky's score for Transformers was fantastic.

So where is the new version of "The Touch" by Stan Bush??
Posted by: SpyGuy on May 28, 2009 at 13:51:45
Okay, Green Day and Cheap Trick...and then a whole lot of crap bands. Nickelback? That alone deserves an automatic pass on this CD.

Damn, as excited as I may be for the movie itself... the soundtrack looks like it's gonna SUCK!

Soundtrack sucks! Score rules!!!
Remeber that. Nothing Linkin Park or any of those bands could come up with is better than what Steve Jablonsky has to offer. NOTHING!
Steve Jablonsky's TRANSFORMERS score was Oscar material, but the academy somehow failed to see that.

I heard Stan Bush's new rendition of the Touch. It stinks of hard monkey balls. They should have stuck with the 80's version. It still works.

Wait, we're actually really getting the score for this one? Instead of a limited release you have to pay like $100 for on Amazon to get? Sweet!

I just hope the Score is as good as the 80's cartoon movie, or at least features some 80's rifts.
