UPDATE: Transformers 3 Enters Summer 2011?
March 17, 2009
Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures have set a July 1, 2011 release date for Transformers 3, but the studios have cautioned to Variety that the dating of the third installment isn't an official announcement that the project is going forward; rather that the studios wanted to plan a stake in the date.
Transformers opened July 2, 2007; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen debuts on June 24, 2009.
So far, Transformers 3 has no direct competition in its July 1, 2011 date.
Paramount also has moved up the release of Marvel Studios' Thor from June 17, 2011 to May 20, 2011. This move sets the release for Thor just two weeks after Spider-Man 4 opens on May 6, 2011.
UPDATE: Michael Bay has posted a message on his forums which indicates that he meant for Paramount to schedule the third film for 2012, not 2011!
I said I was taking off a year from Transformers. Paramount made a mistake in dating Transformers 3 - they asked me on the phone - I said yes to July 4 - but for 2012 - whoops! Not 2011!!! That would mean I would have to start prep in September. No way. My brain needs a break from fighting robots. -- Michael
We'll have to wait and see how this turns out...

Why is it necasary to have a THIRD movie? This franchise doesn't need 3 movies. I don't see how far they can possible go with this.

*necessary
I think the 2nd one will be good. But the third will just be a cluster**** of Transformers.

Moving up Thor is a bad move. Hitting the same demographic 2 weeks after you hit them the first time is REALLY going to hurt the Thor box office. Even if they plan on Thor appearing in Spiderman and trying to ride the coat-tails of excitement that would stir up it's going to be very very bad.

I really wish they'd stop giving us movie release dates so far into the future...I mean seriously beyond this year nothing really matters. None of us even know if we'll be here tomorrow. 2011 is two years away. just focus on the movies at hand and making them awesome and we'll love you. Sometimes the reason they all suck so much is because the studios and directors are thinking to far ahead in the game. just go play by play and down by down till you get in the end zone that's it

Dinobots will be in TF3 for sure... they gotta be. Maybe they'll introduce the other bots and cons as well, like stunticons, protectobots, aerialbots, combaticons, insecticons. Unicron might be there too for scale's sake.

They already have a script for Transformers 3.
Fade In:
Robots, Bad dialogue, bad acting, Hottest chick on Earth Megan fox, robots, dizzying fight with robots that you can't actually see what's going on.
Fade Out.
Same formula for the first two so why not continue with the success.

I'm looking forward to seeing Transformers 3 in 2011, along with Spiderman 4 and Superman Unleashed. Transformers was really the best action-adventure movie of 2007 Spiderman 3 was good but, compared to Transformers it was nothing Venom was done a disservice in the third film. "Superman Unleashed" I am most definitely looking for more Man Of Steel action I'm thinking Braniac and Metallo and further in the sequels we could see Bizarro and Parastie and Livewire I guess. Superman fans. Are wearing his shirt and have his "S" Symbol on their vehicles Superman really is the greatest fictional superhero of all time. DC Comics and Legendary Pictures are going to give us Superman the way he was meant to be. Okay, This is Transformers 3 What can I say fans I'm in love with Transformers I loved the first film. Shia Labeaouf, my girl Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson and Odette Yustman's cameo were all beautiful in the film. Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen looks sweet guys and girls that massive decepticon that was fighting Optimus Prime is going to rock Los Angeles even more than their first battle in the last movie. Spac, Ultra Magnus and Omega Supreme I remember those guys from the early 80's Transformers cartoons. GIJOE is going to be epic in August of 2009 this year but, oh fans Voltron and ThunderCats are on the way for 2010 I'm guessing. Voltron and ThunderCats captivated all childhood persons here including, me back in the 1980's. Let's Go Voltron Force, Thunder, Thunder, Thunder, ThunderCats Hoooooooooooo !!!! Lion-O Leader of The ThunderCats.

I still don't get why people are excited about Transformers, but most of all I don't get why people are excited about seeing classic transformers in the Bay movies. HE RUINS EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM. They look nothing like the original designs. Heck he can't even have consistency. He changed Brawl's name to Devastator in the first movie, and now he's bringing in some awful looking attempt at the combiner Devastator. Good job Bay. It's amazing how people are so excited about a movie that's not paying homage to the original, but taking aspects of it and mutilating it.
