Michael Bay Comments on the Transformers Ride
Source:Michael Bay
October 24, 2008

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay has posted his thoughts about the just announced "Transformers" ride coming to Universal's parks on his official website:

The shooting in the the Middle East is ground breaking - an awesome time had by all the crew.

The Transformer Ride at Universal making all the press rounds - not sure yet - they had me in a press release saying I supported it - but Universal has a long way to go in my mind. I don't support it - I'm not involved and not sure the story of the ride works, and I know Optimus is not going to just show up to be directed by some new people that have never worked with him. I hate when people bullsh*t a quote from me that I never said.

I'll keep you informed. Maybe the guy making the rides at Universal will direct Transformers 3????

Bay

I love his little threat in there like he's not replaceable. Sorry Bay you're not Nolan.

Optimus needs directing?

Bay on directing optimus:

"Ya pose him like that. Great. Ya. A little to the left. RIIIIIGHT. Yep. Get that shot. Perrrrfect."

Michael Bay makes very entertaining movies, that being said, the guy is a mofo prick. If you watched the special features on Bad Boys 2 for instance, you'll understand what I'm saying. But hey, we don't go to see his movies because we like the guy, we go because we like to see ****e blown up!

Michael Bay is both a douchebag and a hack. He's probably the most expendable director in the history of cinema. I'll give five bucks to whoever brings me his head.

Damn You Michael Bay

I see nothing wrong with what Bay said, they put in a quote from him that he never said...i'd be pissed too. Transformers is like his baby, he doesn't want anyone else trying to do other things with it. Bay is perfect for the Transformers movies.

The reason why Dreamworks went to Universal and ditched Paramount?
TO MAKE A DAMN TRANSFORMERS RIDE!!!!

Posted by: Holycrap2000 on October 24, 2008 at 03:36:46

Micheal Bay sucks at making movies! XD.....but kicks ass at Transformers! X) so stick to Transformers Bay :] thats where your style is actually acceptable and entertaining.

Bay is just pissed that they put words in his mouth, I'd be pissed too, his reaction is the same as anybody's reaction would be, don't start mocking him over it.

It's a damn ride. What does Bay care? As if his Lego Bionicles Transformers were brilliant? I don't know which was a worse moment in cinematic history.. Optimus Prime saying "My bad" or Bumblebee pissing on Turturro. The fact that he doesn't endorse this new ride makes me think it will actually be better than his film.

I don't care what he or Universal Studios says. As long as he delivers a good movie and they give us a great ride. Undeniable, Bay did a good job on the first Transformers, so I think we should give him the credit.

"I don't support it." - translation: "I'm not getting any money out of it."

Gosh Michael, if YOU dont like it I guess we'd better not like it either! Do we have any other interests that aren't making you rich?

Speilberg is the creative consultant for Universal, so they have Speilberg's ok, but not Bay's, I think it's funny that Bay doesn't have faith in Speilberg. They also haven't started building it or anything.

michael bay-"BOOMM!! a car blows up!! FWOOSHHH!! OPTIMUS PRIME COMES IN TO SAVE THE DAY!!BAM!BAM!BOOOOMM!! MORE EXPLOSIONS!! the army comes in!! bang bang bang BOOM!!BOOMMM!!!this is an oscar winner right here folks!"

Michael Bay is an idiot who should keep his mouth shut...

He'll probably end up retracting his foolish statement like he did during the whole "I wont direct Transformers 2" HD DVD/Blu-ray saga.

Posted by: Rob on October 24, 2008 at 07:43:15

I wish Bay hadn't been involved in Transformers at any stage. I actually thought he might do a good job of the first film because all he can do is blow things up but it was a huge smelly turd. The only thing that was good about Transformers was the design of the characters which were so complicated (and I assume expensive to produce) that the action was a complete let down. Brief and hard to tell what was going on because the shots were tight in on huge machines. It was just awful and I can't work out why people who usually demonstrate good taste like it.

Who cares if they're making a ride anyway? Spin off rides have absolutely no impact on the source material. It's just a bit of fun.

I've seen Bay in action on a few sets and he is the biggest douche bag in the industry. The guy treats people like **** and yells at everyone.. He's just a primadonna, that's all.
Easily replaceable.

who cares? is this really news?

Posted by: Anjow1060 on October 24, 2008 at 08:54:59

I'm pretty sure those comments were supposed to be tongue in cheek.

Not that I'm fond of Bay, just calling it how I see it.

Not that you need to like the guy and he does come off kind of douchey at times. You have all these people calling him a hack despite his movies making tons. On top of that, all of you calling him a hack keep going to see his movies. So I guess that makes you retarded? Still spending money on something you seem to spend much of your free time calling a pile of crap

I'd be pissed too if I made a movie...and then they made a ride based on my vision of characters, story, and direction...without me having any say in it.

I thoroughly enjoyed TF (aside from the WAY-TOO-CLOSE-UP fighting sequences). It's not an award winner...but it's a fun movie.

That being said, I can't wait for TF2 and this new ride!
