UPDATE: Leaked Pictures of Megatron from The Fallen
Source:Transformers World, Latino Review
September 22, 2008

While we tend to question anything that mysteriously show up in our InBox claiming to be from any highly-anticipated upcoming movie, we're particularly suspicious when it comes to Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. After all, wasn't Michael Bay boasting earlier this year that he planned on leaking false information to throw the fans off for what to expect in the sequel?

The four pictures that popped up certainly look like concept art for the toy designs and box depicting the new transformed version of Megatron that might appear in Michael Bay's sequel, but are they the real deal? Or are these a part of Michael Bay's campaign of misinformation?

When the same pictures started showing up on Transformers World 2005 and Latino Review and all over our message boards, we started wondering if these pictures might actually be legitimate.

You can check out the pictures in all their glory at one of the links above and decide for yourself.

UPDATE: The Hasbro Licensing Summit 2008 has confirmed that those images are indeed the new transformed version of Megatron a/p Transformers World. Their report from the summit also confirms that the Chevy Corvette is the disguised form of Sideswipe and that Devastator and Ravage will be appearing in the sequel.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens on June 26, 2009.

I'm glad his going to be in it. I was a little concerned.

Bangs head against the wall repeatedly.

If they bring Megatron back, they have got to bring back Jazz.

This here looks pretty real and kick *ss! I can't wait to see this movie.

no, no, no, why is he a cybertronian tank when he already had a cybertron form... If thats the case why wasn't prime a cybertronian semi??? Take a form already megs

Not sure if I really like the alien looking tank.
What will Galvatron look like down the line?

Posted by: akira216 on September 22, 2008 at 17:18:06

Lame... Lame... Lame... please be fake

Posted by: The ButnakedAvenger on September 22, 2008 at 17:18:08

Makes sense... I thought I remembered them saying something about bringing him back as a tank. It sort of solves their how-to-make-him-into-a-gun-on-screen-without-making-it-look-stupid problem they had.

Transformers revenge of the fallen is going to be the best 1

Posted by: akira216 on September 22, 2008 at 17:21:04

with this direction when they do unveil Galvatron... he will look just like Leonard Nimoy

Posted by: Drunken Monk on September 22, 2008 at 17:26:23

Akira, Prime actually had time to find something he wanted to change into on Earth, Megatron pretty much just got thawed out and started kicking ass. And besides, if you figured your original transformation was pretty much waaay more bad ass than anything earth had to offer, why would you bother changing into something inconspicuous..? You think Megatron cares about blending in...? Say what you want but that tank looks far from lame...

Posted by: ItsMeTrev on September 22, 2008 at 17:38:00

Anyone else wonder who will do Starscream's voice?

Posted by: SmokinBandit on September 22, 2008 at 17:38:14

But if Megatron comes back doesnt that mean he is Galvitron...? Or is that going to be moving to quickly into Unicron teritory...?

Posted by: Grayskull Prime on September 22, 2008 at 17:44:00

So he went from a jet that looks like it was cobbled together from random spare parts to a tank that's just as ugly. Big whoop! I'll be surprised if they ever use Galvatron in these movies. Michael Bay probably thinks he's stupid.

its probably a fake to throw us off

If you notice on the pics, one of them is a closeup of his face in tank form. In an earlier post about the movie comic book series that links both movies together, one cover of the comic book showed what could be Devastator, which showed Megatron's face in the middle of the robot. Could Megatron help to form Devastator in the next movie?????? Sounds really Sweet to me! Even though it would follow the lines of the cartoon or comic book, but it would be bad ass anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a fake!

Nick Fury,
If you and your info is legit, what about Jazz and is the story any good?

Posted by: Armageddon on September 22, 2008 at 18:01:33

Bay is ten steps ahead of all of us.

No one can anticipate just how glorious Fallen will be.

Bay knows best.

It's strange they'd go with the organic/insect armored look coupled with ordinary tank treads. He looks like Scorponok riding a flatbed. Sorry I can't be more enthused, but if this is real, my reaction is "Michael By strikes again". Same if it's fake.
I don't believe that Galvatron and Hot "Road" will be in the movie, because they were part of a new line of toys to be sold after all the characters in the old line were killed in the animated movie. So far there aren't enough robots from the live action universe to constitute a line, let alone a replacement for one, and I don't know that any kids would want to play with these funky looking robots anyway.

Posted by: UghBay on September 22, 2008 at 18:05:58

Drunken Monk, what Akira means is why would Megatron go from one cybertronian form to another....and where would he find this form? ON earth? plus even though Megatron is bad ass the point of the movie is "Transformers, robots in disguise." The point of the transformers is to adopt earth forms.

Posted by: Air Force One on September 22, 2008 at 18:06:01

Uhhh... That's it?

Posted by: Johan on September 22, 2008 at 18:13:14

I wonder if they can top the first movie with even more cheesy one-liners from the robots? I´m pretty darn sure Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote all the dialog for the Autobots and Decepticons.

Anyone who can name a movie, who we are supposted to take seriously, with even more cheesier one-liners in it??
