Transformers Concept Art Reveals Aircraft Carrier

Concept artist Tim Flattery has posted a batch of 15 images he produced for the first Transformers that reveal his design idea for the aircraft carrier Transformer that didn't make it into the film. Director Michael Bay had mentioned it might pop up in the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but recently producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said that wouldn't be the case.

Can you say Robotech (Macross). The SDF-1 was kind of like a transforming aircraft carrier, though much bigger. I think they used an aircraft carrier for one of its hands.
The Transformers are great and I know a Robotech film would be awesome!

or what if the carrier he was dropped from was already a Decepticon and is ready to bring Megatron back?

I agree with what you said the first time. That actually makes sense

In most of these pictures I can't tell what I am looking at. Just like the movie. Way overcomplicated designs. Just terrible.

I don't know. Something tells me the Unicron angle would be too easy. Where I agree with the myriad of ways Megatron could be brought back and as Galvatron, I just don't see the planet eater in this one. Unless maybe toward the end to set up Ep. 3.
So many months for more speculation though. The advertising is already working to Bay's advantage and there aren't any trailers yet.

That pic no.12,13 and 14, who are they?? I'm sure they from Decepticons..

Kent0716: Interesting angle, but I don't think Megs mass could translate into an AFC. Though he would have and abundance of other aircraft and even smaller surface ships to choice from in the battle group. Unless of course he were able to assimulate (sp?) the left over parts from the other fallen. FrankaTron the submarine?

Bad A** ,I cant wait to see what they come up with next.

i couldnt help but notice that one of the pictures is a concept created in the show Beast Machines, im talking about the one with the head like thing, it looks awfully familiar to how Megatron looked like in Beast Machines, its just something i'd like to mention.

the unused stuff still looks like a clusterf..k so big deal and why isn't any site reporting on Michael Turner passing away?
Posted by: joker on July 8, 2008 at 13:32:58
some of these pictures are from the first movie. You can see them on the 2 disc dvd.

Yeah im pretty sure the number 13 pic is Megatron , thats exactly what he looked like in the show Beast Machines!! im serious that could very well be him, and like he sends the rest of the decepticons to do his bidding for him.

"Way off topic but can anyone suggest any bad ass mature Wolverine Graphic Novels???"
Screw Wolverine... (seeing as how the spin-off movie will be going up against TF2 next summer)

IGC: i'd love to see FrankaTron...lol
Ryan: we're all entitled to like or dislike, but the over-complicated designs deceive our eyes to make the robots look more "realistic" on film. if there were too many solid and flat plates of metal we could easily say "what cheap CGI" like the first Hulk, bubbly and cheap.

i cant wait to see concepts for the SECOND movie... its going to be awesome...i see wyngarde has been spreading around his usual brand of hatorade...you know if hes hating it, we've got one heck of a movie on our hands...its a good day for true tranformers fans.

Kent0716: You know that conjures up so many visions of nasty multi Alt modes for Megs. Kind of like the Cybertron and Import line versions. Which frankly sounds kick ass to me. Megatron was the pinnicle of Deception tech, he should be a multi changer.

Is Devastator the robot in the 11th pic? I can see robots attached in the legs...
Posted by: Spideys Cool on July 8, 2008 at 21:52:04
Cool. But is that Megatron in one of the pix? I thought he died.
But I know that Starscream is still alive.
But I thought the name of that one decepticon was Destroyer not Devastator or are they both different robots?
All I'm saying is I can't wait till the Autobots kick ass in this movie. WHOO HOO!!

peace and love people..respect 2u all..but this is my opinion..his art work looks like ****..cant even tell what in the hell is going on???...or who or what is being illustrated..those monstrosities..look nothing like a transformer..realistic reinterpitation or other wise

Some of you guys obviously don't know much about Transformers...that's Tidal Wave (not Megatron or Unicron *he's a f@@king planet for god's sake*)...and most of those other pictures are just flash backs or out dated art from the previous movie (Specifically Optimus during the chase scene with Sector 7 and Blackout f@@king up the air force base).
