Concept artist Tim Flattery has posted a batch of 15 images he produced for the first Transformers that reveal his design idea for the aircraft carrier Transformer that didn't make it into the film. Director Michael Bay had mentioned it might pop up in the sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but recently producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said that wouldn't be the case.

sweet picks but,i wonder why didnt add the carrier in the first movie?..

Posted by: Jebus on July 8, 2008 at 03:09:52

They didnt add the carrier in the first movie because, well i guess they didnt need any aircraft carrying. They didnt need a lot of things in that film - script, plausible characters, Grimlock.

They need the Dinobots.

I wonder if this is a new interpretation of Unicron. Either way, it looks absolutely awesome.

Loved each and every last frame. A transforming aircraft carrier would be simply orgasmic. If Bay re-interprets Devastator as something like that, I would be totally fine with it.

wow who needs the constructicons?

Posted by: Pun 'Jaab on July 8, 2008 at 08:33:49

wow, these go-bots are quite fantastical. I am hoping to be first in line. Perhaps they could be crossing over with bionicles. that would be most tremendous.

Revealed? This stuff was on the DVD

I wonder if Transformers 2 kicks off where the first movie left us... ie. Megatron being dropped over the edge of an AIRCRAFT CARRIER into the ocean?.

Posted by: Naw on July 8, 2008 at 09:51:35

I agree. I believe these are from the first movie. One being the date on them, and the other is how familiar these pictures look. One pic Optimus is hiding under a bridge while (army?) Helicopters fly below. The others, around pictures 8 and 9 look like when blackout lands and attacks the base.

Posted by: jaromir on July 8, 2008 at 10:00:29

yeah I would have to agree that these are from the first movie, especially since it says so in the description.........morons.

TDK will crush this movie!!!

Zowies!! Cute pic!

just an opinion, but at the end of Transformers they drop Megatron into an abyss off of an aircrat carrier. If Megatron returns in revenge of the fallen, wouldn't you think he scanned the carrier before being dropped and returns in part 2 as an aircraft carrier? is that simply dreaming in left field or what?
