Legion director Scott Stewart and star Paul Bettany talked to ShockTillYouDrop.com about the next project they are working on together, Priest, which is expected to start shooting late next month. An adaptation of a TokyoPop comic book, the story is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampire and follows a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Screen Gems is targeting an August 13, 2010 release.

Looking forward to this much more than the Constantine sequel. Paul Bettany is a cool guy. Vampires forever awesome.

I'm a fan of this graphic novel and it just makes me real sick hearing this crap about this very stupid storyline that has nothing to do with the original book. Good forbid hollywood touches something that is realy about falling angels and religiouse content undertones of the book. What the hell is this about freakin vampires! This movie is a sad piece of sh@# .

Heh so they turned a pretty original tale and turned it into a completely a typical yarn with vampires.

...Brilliant. Why even say its based off the source if its nothing like it? Who knows who could be good even if the plot is...A typical.

I hate you ****ing losers. This film will be great. Constantine 2 will be great. Get over it.

The Priest manwha (Korean term for comic) has nothing, NOTHING to do with vampires. The main story (as it has numerous, spanning three time periods that are all linked) concerns a priest, Ivan Issacs, who apon witnessing his (adoptive) sister sacrificed to release the fallen angel Temorazela, sells half his soul to the 'demon' Belial (a former priest himself) for the power to avenge her.
It's spanned 17 full books already and shows no sign of ceasing. What their doing to the property is taking a BS story about a vampire hunting priest and taking on an intellectual property thats 'similar'....

And that makes me a very sad panda.

You guys are getting pretty upset over a description written by SuperHeroHype.... Let’s see what a trailer shows first. Also, their might not have been vampires but there is a plague of undeath which turns everyone into cannibalistic zombies... is there really that much of a difference in vampires and people who eat other people causing them to come back to life? Settle down.

At least they stopped talking about live-action evangelion.
I was ready to firebomb WETA for their piss-poor attempt at production artwork...clearly they hadn't seen the series and had no idea what in the F they were working on.

I've only read the first 3 books, but there weren't any vampires in it. Zombies yes, but no Vampires.

So it sounds like they are trying to ride the current wave of vampire chic. It's too bad because the story of demons and zombies sounds cool.

whats funny is that all these people say the same **** about every movie. loser douche bags who rag on every movie like they did when tyrese went on stage yesterday and talked about transformers. I asked them "did you guys see it more than once" they all said yes so i told them to shut the **** up then. same with you. you know you all will see it, then buy it on blu ray and watch it secretly like u do with your anime. so stop ragging on movies that dont exactly follow comic books, or graphic novels, if they always did that, then the movie would be pointless cuz youd know everything that was going to happen which ruins the entire point. so **** you

Can't they just call this movie something else altogether? Or at least not say explicitly that its based off of the Priest Manhwa? Screen Gems is confusing the hell out of people by going through the effort of associating this movie with the source material it's refusing to even look at.

$5 says Scott Stewart is a pseudonym for Uwe Boll. Who wants to take me up on the bet?

@ Does not compute

You obviously dont know much about Transformers.

A) They are called "Decepticons" not destructacons.
B) Some of the character names were used, and some new ones.

The main similarity between the movies and the old cartoon are the fact that it is Autobots vs Decepticons on Earth. The story aside from that is very different.

Any case, I thought both movies were great.

@ Impersonated Celebrity: I think you meant "atypical" (one word), which, by the way, means "NOT typical." Sounds like this is going to be pretty "typical" to me.

I also think this will be awesome i would also like to see a vampire hunter d live action as well

Quote: "Paul Bettany would be perfect for the lead role in a PREACHER graphic novel adaptation after PRIEST. "

He'd make an awful Jesse Custer, but I wouldn't poo poo the idea of him as Cassidy, though Tim Roth would be better.
