Kick-Ass Footage to Premiere at Comic-Con
Source:Marv Films
July 1, 2009
ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! has learned that world premiere footage from director Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass will be presented at Comic-Con in San Diego on Thursday, July 23 toward the end of the day. We'll have more on who will be there from the film soon. You won't want to miss the chance to be the first to experience this gritty, brash and funny actioner!
The film is based on the Marvel Comics' Icon imprint written by Mark Millar and drawn by John Romita Jr. The book centers on a high school dweeb named Dave Lizewski who decides to become a superhero even though he has no athletic ability or coordination. Things change when he eventually runs into real bad guys with real weapons. Aaron Johnson plays title character, while Lyndsy Fonseca plays the object of the teen's infatuation. Nicolas Cage is a former cop who wants to bring down a druglord and has trained his daughter (Chloe Moretz) to be a lethal weapon. Mark Strong plays Frank D'Amico and Christopher Mintz-Plasse is Red Mist.
With this announcement, we received a new photo of Moretz as Hit Girl which you can click on to make bigger!

You know, I think that Mark Miller might have a little bit of a pedo/weapon play fettish going on here.
Frankly, it's almost kind of scary.

@Spidermatrix53:
It's definitely spelled Millar. Just so you know.
I'm excited. Should be an entertaining flick, if nothing else.

This is going to blow ass. The comic stopped being realistic so fast after the first issue I hardly had time to adjust. It started with a great premise and then quickly became unnecessarily overrwrought with clichés and Hollywood exaggerations.

Posted by: Not your AVERAGE SHH poster on July 2, 2009 at 12:47:13
SUPERHEROHYPE's average poster offers a particular brand of sardonic, no-holds-barred commentary about everything around him that has firmly established the 31-year-old, who still lives in his mom's basement, as an absolutely terrible person who is always ready to crack a joke.
According to friends of the modern-day Oscar Wilde, he has a singular knack for sucking every last bit of genuine enjoyment out of any situation with his hilarious, nonstop incisiveness.
"His sense of humor takes some getting used to, but nothing gets past him. Who knew someone could go off on a GI JOE update for 25 minutes? But that's just SHH's fans for you."
Though the average poster's lightning-quick, whip-smart criticism occurs without pause, it still manages to surprise those who know him by expertly dismantling their enthusiasm from an inexhaustible variety of angles.
"With these posters, you never see it coming," Michael Bay said. "You'll be discussing something you really enjoy—like, say, one of my movies or whatever—and you think he's engaged and agreeing with you, and then bam! He pulls the rug right out from under you with a spot-on remark about how it's a pretty feeble attempt to recapture one's long-past youth. He'll get you every time with that one."
Other acquaintances indicated that shooting blistering one-liners at any person he comes in contact with is just one of the ways in which he can always be counted on to ruin a good time. Longtime friend Stephen Rosenthal said that dogs, infants, films, and even inanimate objects are never safe from his hilarious assessments.
"Trust me, nothing's sacred to these guys," Rosenthal said. "I remember one time one of these fools came to my 6-year-old son's T-ball game, and he gave it the same type of relentless send-up that he would give to a bad movie or a Vespa scooter. There's just no holding him back."
Added Rosenthal, "However,... He's really, really funny."
But it's at parties, sources confirmed, that the SHH average blog poster's complete eradication of even the tiniest bit of non-ironic joy is most apparent. At any social gathering, he/she is able to draw total attention to himself and his clever, razor-sharp barbs, which always have everyone laughing and walking on eggshells.
"You really have to watch what you post around him," coposter M. Byson said. "He's just so quick and hilarious, and he's always, always 'on.' I'm really glad he heard about my birthday party this weekend through a mutual friend. I'm sure he'll really liven things up like only he can."
Though his reputation for amusingly tearing apart everyone and everything in his path is well known, his own passions remain a mystery. When pressed, no one who is acquainted with the scintillating killjoy could attribute anything even remotely resembling an authentic personality to him.
"Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever heard him say that he liked or enjoyed something," said market research associate Kyle Sullivan. "Other than that he makes some pretty trenchant points about how annoying and pointless any movie with Nick Cage is, I guess I actually don't know a whole lot about him."
"Oh, but I did hear that he's getting divorced again," Sullivan added.

hahaha, this is amazing. reads like something straight from the onion. and if i may be too ignorant to know that it really is from the onion, i apologize for such ignorance ahead of time and beg for forgiveness.
as far as the movie goes i'm down to watch it. if hollywood's hot for millar projects...they should turn 'old man logan' into a movie...just my opinion

and indeed...it is

This Movie looks great gonna be better then Wanted thats for sure but when is the damn movie coming out last I heard they were gonna release it in September but I don't know theres already two big movie's coming out that
month anyway which are Whiteout and Surrogates.
If I were the director I'd wait until October to release this movie there's not a whole lot coming out
in October except for Astro boy but that's about it
it should be able to take advantage of the box office
in that month.

This is probably the ending of the movie or a sence added for the movie. This piece is not in the comic so far. Can't wait for the trailer and comic-con footage
Posted by: Millaresque on July 2, 2009 at 15:50:43
They ran out of money before the ending could be filmed, so it ain't that, Joseph. (There is an ending rushed on the last day, but the film needs a distributor attached -which it's struggling with currently- to get more money to do severe pick-ups.)
If you like the comic- whichever direction you believe it's headed because of influence of the film-
and want to see the best verion of it available-
get behind the advertising now and convince some people this is worth seeing.

This movie is going to wreck itself. Millar's comics-turned movies is a bunch of weird fetishes and gun porn. Over-hyped violence and chicks with guns don't always a good movie make.

Look, I loved The Ultimates, The Authority and Wanted in comics and enjoy most of Mark Millars comic work because it's brilliant but this looks like another joke.-On Hollywood and the movie audience. Is Millar trying to ape Quentin Tarantino now? Putting little kids in superhero roles only to have them turn into murdering walking bloodbaths? This is supposed to be good? Wanted was a bastardized mess of an abortion even though the comic kicked all kinds of awesome. Mixing Superhero kids with Resovoir Dogs & Snatch is not a good idea but I guess we will have to wait for reviews to hear that Mark Millar belongs in comics and not movies. Just like Frank Miller and his hideous ego-trip called "Frank Millers The Spirit".
Oh and to the dork making fun of posters here, how ling did you take typing that? Moron assumptions about most if us being joykillers who live in our moms basements is way off. Try taxpaying adults with social lives and different opinions and views.

This series would be so much more amazing if it actually came out on time.
