I'M SOOOOO EXCITED. I LOVE THE SHOW AND THIS LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE VERY GOOD. NICKALODEON USUALLY MAKES GOOD MOVIES.

Must admit at first I thought, oh it's like Dragonball, till they panned out to reveal the setting and ships. Might be some hope for this thing.
Though Aasif Mandvi as the main antagonist? Now that's interesting.

This actually looks promising. I'm still worried about the lead though. Aang shouldn't come off as too serious.

i agree with fanboii. i hope they stick to a light side of him alot where he's just like a little kid. but we'll see. i personally think that looked very good. pretty excited

Wow this really looks good. Never watched the tv show so not sure about the source material.

Fanboiii, stop and think about this...does Shyamalan ever have a character in his movies that is not unrealistically serious?
I want to be excited, and maybe by just adapting someone else's story it will be okay, but I just don't have a lot of faith in the director anymore. He micromanages everyone in his scenes to a point where his performers have no room to breath. They come off as awkward and mechanical. He is so wrapped up in his twists and contrived endings that entertainment value disappears as well as believability, leaving the viewer with nothing gbut an empty feeling inside and elitist Starbucks drinking friends who love it for the sake of appearing indie and cool, because everyone else knows how crappy it truly is.
That being said, I loved his first three.

I have enjoyed most of Shyamalan's movies. I know that they have a surprise ending which causes some people to actually think (about what they saw) and therefore they don't like his movies. I think these are great as they are not Hollywoods mostly predictable mindless dribble. However, I am not so sure about this one. There's something about it, from what I have seen of this trailer and stills, that makes it appear to be lacking. It makes me think of a TV special instead of a major motion picture. I hope this movie is of the quality of any well made movie but and that I am not being too critical, too soon. We shall see.

Could be good...or not. Time will tell.
I like M. Knight Shyamalan...if for no other reason than the dude's name is derived from Moon Knight! (He should've masde a movie about him! THAT I'd like to see!)

I've never seen the show but this looks pretty good.

And fanboiii, remember, Aang is pretty serious throughout the series. He just has moments where he's a kid when he wants to go Penguin sledding and such. They're cutting a 20 episode series down into a feature film. I personally would be okay with it if they kept mostly the serious parts.
Posted by: Fanboiii on June 23, 2009 at 01:54:47
Scarehuman, you're being cynical. Shyamalan does have some flukes, but he also has good movies like Unbreakable and 6th Sense. This isn't a typical Shyamalan film and his kids are fans of the cartoon. All I know is that it's already better than Dragonball Evolution, so I'm looking forward to see more.

This could be amazing, and the big blockbuster to Shyamalan since "Sings"

Looks like they got oi right so far

looks good from the teaser. like Fanboii mentioned, hope it doesn't turn out to be like the Dragonball movie which was just terrible. This movie could have some potential or could turn out to be a terrible movie.
