Watchmen star Jackie Earle Haley is taking on another comic book role as he's been hired to co-star in Fox's drama pilot "Human Target."

"Pushing Daisies" alum Chi McBride also has been cast in project, based on the DC Comics title.

The WBTV-produced "Target" centers on Christopher Chance (Mark Valley), a mysterious freelancer who offers a unique form of security for hire: He assumes the identities of people in danger, becoming the "human target" on behalf of his clients.

Haley will play Chance's information gatherer, who keeps his ear to the ground.

McBride will play Chance's business partner and friend.

I'd like to see him in more movies. Is he going to be Freddy Krueger?

He plays Walter Kovacs / Rorschach

JSG is that in reference to the novel Raw Shark Diaries? Or is it Text. Forgot. Read it last year...complicated book.

Oh, never mind...Rorschach's name.

Mark Valley, eh? I've said for years that this guy should be Captain America if he's not too old at the time they make Cap or Avengers films. He looks nails the Steve Rogers look like no other actor I've seen.

A petition for Valley to be Steve Rogers/Captain America should be started.

As for Haley, I'm glad he's working. It's always a pleasure to see non-beefcake actors getting jobs in that hellhole known as Hollywood.

Well...so much for him playing Fred Krugar.

Just got back from the theater...Jackie Earl Haley nailed Rorschach. Best comic book character I've seen portrayed on the big screen next to Heath Ledger's Joker, in my opinion. He stole the show.

Loved this comic. Love the concept...Um...no Rick Springfield reprisal??????

I would have to agree with you Dave, Haley was awesome, especially the prison scenes when he is all bad a$$. But then what else would you expect from an original member of the Bad News Bears!!!

[ 40 P L U S S E E K I N G . C 0 M ] is really a funny and interesting place to meet 40 plus and attractive women or hot men. Many hottie photos at this site, you can enjoy latest interesting photos or talk about hot topic with other friends. I've met many thoughtful 40plus singles who were trying to find true love.

Because he is in Watchmen, I'll be spitting venom on this one as well.

@ rightwinger

I totally agree with your comment about Mark Valley being casted for Captain America. He is a terrific actor, BRING BACK KEEN EDDIE!! I will sign the petition if you start it.

Hmmm. Is it possible that they've chosen a comic book property for its potential to adapt into a good movie rather than its perceived popularity? If so, good for them.

Wasn't there a Human Target made for TV movie or mini-series in the early 90's?

"Best comic book character I've seen portrayed on the big screen next to Heath Ledger's Joker, in my opinion. He stole the show. "
JEH was even better than Heath, he brought Roarshack to life as the author intender; while Heath put a "new spin" on an old character. Heath's performance was great but wasn't exactly true to the Joker. Based on that I would have to give JEH the nod as far as calling it a "comic book" performance
