The half-hour show is targeted for a premiere in late 2009. The voice talent will include Tom Kenny ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), Charlie Adler ("Transformers"), Steve Blum ("Wolverine and the X-Men") and Grey DeLisle ("The Fairly OddParents," "The Replacements").

Wow. This sounds almost as good as The ProStars.

Is it just me or does Silver Surfer kind of feel like the odd man out in that team..?

Hopefully it will be better then Wolverine and the X-Men since it is on Cartoon Network. And when is Thor going to get some love!? They need to some out with a show with all of the Pantheons (although Herc drinking beer all of the time might not be too kid friendly...).

come, not some.

Does anyone know how the animation is going to be?

Posted by: Darcsyde on February 17, 2009 at 01:53:02

From what I read elsewhere this will be based on teh toy line Hero Squad and will feature (what I call) super deforemd version of the heroes.
Big arms and short legs and tiny heads.

Sounds like Bandai and their whole SD Gundam series.

I get the feeling it will be much like those mini-marvel shorts that they put in the comics. It could be funny. But definitely not a serious show.

This show is not what you think it is. It is a kids cartoon, based on the popular toy line.

Its for the kids. Let them Have something

Why they don't they call it mighty avengers or new avengers? The lineup doesn't have to be accurate and each of those heroes were avengers at one point.

Batman: The Brave and The Bold actually made Aquaman fun to watch. My four year old daugter loves the show and even my wife doesn't mind watching it with her. Hopefully, the same will be true of this show.

The line up is extremely powerful so unless they are fighting mega villians every week, it's going to be overkill. Interesting choice of heroes, AvengersDefenders in one group. Why not just through in Thor and Dr. Strange to round it off. It sounds promising, but with this little to go on it's still too soon to call. I'm 50/50 on this because if you recall with had hits with Batman and the Xmen in the 90's then Spiderman and Superman. In the midst of all of that we got that crappy Avengers cartoon. The Silver Surfer wasn't that bad, but lacked action so it's not a lock that they will get this right. Only time will tell.

I CAN'T WAITED TO SEE HOW THE WRITER WILL MADE THE MARVEL SUPER HERO SQUAD. WILL WE GET TO SEE VILLAIN FROM THE MARVEL COMICS. IT WILL BE INTERESTED TO SEE HOW THE HULK WILL WORK WITH A GROUP. WHO WILL BE THE LEADERS AND WHERE WILL THE HEADQUARTER WILL LOOK LIKE. GOOD LUCK TO THE FUTURE. YOUR TRULY CHARLES DAVID HASKELL

Isn't "Super-hero Squad" those odd little toy figures that they sell in Wal*Mart that kind of look like weebles?

Posted by: A sphinter says what...?!? on February 17, 2009 at 08:26:34

This seems interesting...could either rock...or blow hard!!

my nephews, who are 2-6 years old, love this toy line. I have to admit they are pretty neat, and a great way to introduce kids to Marvel properties. The toyline is also good for producing figures of REALLY obscure characteres like Mole Man, Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Ronin, and even the Punisher in his Captain American garb. Pretty cool toyline. We're looking forward to the cartoon.

Yes, it is.
Did everyone skip over all the previews on the Incredible Hulk dvd? lol I couldn't blame anyone if they did, but it was there for a brief moment.

The animated characters are supposed to look like the Marvel Super Hero Squad.... the little dis-proportioned toys that they sell in pairing.

No doubt, this is to get the little kids into Marvel.

I'm not complaining... not everything is for adults...

All i need to say is it's about time they gave Silver Surfer some love! And yes, i'm not even going to talk about the F-up they did with him int FF2. But i hope they animate this like they used to draw em in the 80's and 90's and not this Japanese influenced BULL! and not like the toys, they look like lil kids in those toys!

I am so sick and tired of Wolverine!!! I thought I was done with him after those sorry X-Men movies!!!
