Warner Bros. Rebooting Tomb Raider

Warners Bros. Pictures and producer Dan Lin (upcoming Sherlock Holmes) are in early development on a a reboot of "Tomb Raider," the popular video game action franchise featuring Lara Croft.

Paramount previously made the two movies based on the game, but the rights have since reverted to Eidos. When Time Warner upped its stake to 19.92% in Eidos in December, films rights to the property were included as part of the deal.

Lin will produce the project via his Lin Pictures while Stephen Gilchrist will co-produce; Ian Livingstone of Eidos will executive produce.

The new project, however, is expected to revamp the character and her mission and bear little resemblance to the original pictures. It will reimagine the origins of the character, her love interest and the main villain.

As an open-writing assignment, the project is still in its nascent stages. An actress who could play the role Angelina Jolie made famous would likely come on after a writer and director are attached.

Get Rhona Mitra, the chick that was in the Underworld: Rise of the Lycans--not only is she hot, she's actually British and was the real-life model for photos of Lara Croft when the game first come out.

ken, you're an idiot. I'm sick of hearing people say **** like "only Bale can be Batman, no one else!" or "only no one can outdo Heath Ledger's Joker", or "no one can outdo Angelina Jolie, she's too hot!!!", "no one can outdo Hugh Jackman in the role of Wolverine"... People said that about Keaton for Batman(Burton's films) and they said that about Christopher Reeve(Superman) - Side note... Routh still sucked as Superman but many argue that he was fantastic, in reality though he blew chunks, but eh...
In either event, get my point?

Any actor, and I don't care how good he or she does in a role can be replaced, sure in the case of Downey and Ledger that can be difficult and close to impossible, but it is doable, so stfu.

I heard a rumor that Megan Fox could play the part, but as we all know it is pure rumor. Could be good or really bad like the previous films. Jolie naked backside and side boob shot was the only good thing about the first movie and I did not even watch the 2nd. My girl enjoyed the first movie so I will end up seeing this one. Tomb Raider being dark could be a very good thing if done right.

You all act like the Tomb Raider movies were classic and actually good movies. They were forgettable at best. You all cry and whine when they make remakes, reboots, sequels to movies you love and then also of movies that aren't good. For God's sake.

Not for acting talent - I'll think of some later - but for pure they'd look good in that I'd say Jessica Biel or Scarlett Johanssen. I'd love to see Scarlett's baby feeders in something tight and black. Ooh, whee.

Megan Fox as Lara? Seriously? She can barely handle blirting out dialogue in a believable way as it is, throw in her attempting to do a British accent and it'll be even worse. God forbid we get an actress who can, y'know, act.

No, we need someone hot first and foremost.

I think Kate Beckinsale would be ideal; even though it'll never happen, since after after the Underworld films she said she'd abstain from action movies.
