I can't wait for this movie, hopefully they will not trash this great anime legend! But it looks awesome so far!

I'm not to to sure about this movie. I use to like Astro Boy as a kid, but I don't think I'm going to watch this when it hits theaters. To me it seems like no one even gives a crap that it being made, not any of my friends anyways.

Animation wise, not up to the level of Pixar or Dream Works animation but still will keep kids entertained. But you have to keep in mind Pixar and Dreamsworks works for 4 years on their film, this is like what a year and a half.

Speaking of anime to CG animation, what ever happened to that Thundercats movie? Forget this Asstro Boy stuff--give us something cool.

Why does Astro Boy look better than Superman Returns?

@Leo
LOL! Thats what I thought when I first looked at it. It kinda looks funny without them.

The title of Superman never should have been "RETURNS" sounds lame -- was like bull**** reintroduction

Saw the teaser. I have it on my list of movies to keep an eye on because my 8 year old might enjoy it, but right now it doesn't look like an Aladdin or a Toy Story that I might like also. We'll see. If I he's the target audience and he loves it, then I guess they'll get what they're shooting for. If I'm the target audience... like I said, we'll see.

I certainly won`t go see the new Astro Boy movie in theatres(maybe-and it`s a really big maybe-maybe, someday when it`s on television I`ll watch the film).I`ve always been a fan of art and animation and I have to say-I think the animation looks okay.I agree with Methos`s post-the animation is in no way up to the level of Pixar and Dreamworks(but than not too many can match Pixar and Dreamworks when it comes to CG animation anyways).
As I`ve said before,I`m not sure why exactly a Astro Boy movie is being made, but I`m sure the Astro Boy movie will have it`s audience.
I agree with Punisher777`s post,I used to love the Astroboy anime series when I was a kid.But for some reason as a adult the character doesn`t take hold of my imagination in quite the same way that it did as a youth.Which is funny, considering that as a adult with a full-time job,I still enjoy watching He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe,The Real Ghostbusters,C.O.P.S,Transformers,Spider-Man(the original series and the mid 1990`s series),Batman:The Animated Series,Biker Mar From Mars,Captain Planet And The Planeteers,Conan The Adventurer,Cadillacs & Dinosaurs and Gargoyles on Youtube(ah,the good old days-now those were good cartoons).Oh well,I guess that`s because I consider all of the aforementioned animated series to be superior in quality to the Astro Boy series.
Still,I`m sure some adults will go see the new Astro Boy movie, but I think that for the most part the new Astro Boy movie is for the kids.

the first pic looks like "meet the robinsons" or something. but the one where he's flying looks pretty on-model.
there may be potential here. but the script will be key cuz i'm not sure how this is gonna work as a feature-length with a bunch of white guys makin it (lose that anime charm, i'm afraid). we'll see.

i tinhk the art work looks fine, its jus the preview artwork as vfx student and cg student, thats probably not the final renders they might use in the film, and it looks fine, everyone on this site jus bashes everything instead of just giving it a chance, i will go see it and enjoy this movie, because i understand how much work goes into CG

blue, just know that this would be terrible if made into a live action film.

Is he still going to have a .50cal machine gun coming out of his a$$? You forgot to mention that one stryker.
Man if that was done in live action it would really mess people up.

For a second there, i thought the picture was an advertisement from a "Big Boy" restaurant.

It's really hard to top Pixar because they're a massive studio, so I think it's kind of dumb to point out that the CGI isn't as good.
Plus, we've only seen a teaser. Besides, is it really necessary. Certainly the CGI is better than Toy Story's CGI.
This looks great. I don't know what you people are expecting.

Nothing wrong with that.

What funny coincidence, I take of my sweater when I fly around too.
Flying around bare-chested is where it's at.
