The New Push Poster
December 22, 2008
The new poster for Summit Entertainment's Push is now online. Opening February 6th, the Paul McGuigan-directed action-thriller stars Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Camilla Belle, Djimon Hounsou, Maggie Siff and Scott Michael Campbell.
Push burrows deep into the deadly world of psychic espionage where artificially enhanced paranormal operatives have the ability to move objects with their minds, see the future, create new realities and kill without ever touching their victims. Against this setting, a young man and a teenage girl take on a clandestine agency in a race against time that will determine the future of civilization.

Chris was in Sunshine, or whatever that crappy movie was that everyone seems to like?

I think they're sort of ripping off the Heroes concept from NBC, and adapting it to the big screen. Gotta save the cheerleader, in this case being this escaped girl, to save the world, from the bad guy. It will prolly suck, as I saw the trailer for it this weekend, but who knows, maybe we need more superheroes that aren't mainstream at all, originality is what Hollywood is severely lacking at the moment.

Wildsyde7 you can't say their ripping off heroes because then every x-men fan is going to say heroes stole from them. everyone has the idea of super powers but how they process it, is what makes it different. also m.bison use a comma, i read it as dakota is now a gorgeous adult man. did she get a sex change?

WKJ, Heroes isn't a ripoff of x-men, now hear me out, because A: No costumes B: You can't copyright "super powers", you can copyright an idea, but everyone has the right to take their own spin on that idea and make it their own. C: X-Men stories are way more intricate than a Heroes script any day of the week, however, the advantage of Heroes storylines, both good and bad, are that they have original stories. Can you point out exact copies of X-Men stories that Heroes ripped off ver batem? Can you point out anyone who's infringing on X-Men characters (superpowers are just an idea, you have to have more than that to make your argument valid). Does anyone use trademarked slogans that X-Men uses? No, No, and lemme see. . .No. So coming full circle, Heroes is original in it's usage of original characters, story lines and usage of established superpowers that resemble other superpowers from other properties. I don't necessarily agree with the direction of the show at present, but this isn't the place for rambling on about that. I still think Push is more of a rippoff of Heroes, than it is of X-Men. It just borrowed the superpowers concept, and made it their own.
And please, can we all just grow up and ignore M. Bison's obvious intention to get everyone riled up and move forward. Thanks and goodnight. . .er, morning.

While I am a fan of Heroes, I've gotta admit, it is definitely a ripoff of the concept of Xmen--or, at least, of the concept of mutants. But that's okay. If you're going to steal ideas, steal great ideas. At least Heroes puts a new spin on an old one.
Push, on the other hand, look like a blatant ripoff of Heroes. Uncostumed young mutants (some of whom are second generation) running from a mysterious company that wants to captuure them an use them for its own diabolical purposes? Why don't the just drop the pretense an give Djimon Hounsou horn-rimmed glasses?

Been there, done that. This is another one that will be going straight to video. Why don't they just make a "Jumper II", and maybe bring Hayden Christensen back as a villian.

Really... Heroes is totally a X-men rip off! Senator Kelly is even going to be rounding up the X-men and putting them into mutant internment camps next season. Or is Nathan more of an Ahab character with his hounds. We will have to wait I guess. Anyway this is more of a Firestarter meets Heroes rip off. At least give them credit for mixing two films.

I saw the trailer for this, and it looked cool...BUT...even though I don't watch Heroes, it kinda reminded me of that. Also, a bit of Jumper too, and Young X-Men...
