The Flash Not Gaining Momentum
Source:Ryan Rotten
October 18, 2008
ShockTillYouDrop.com caught up with The Dark Knight producer Charles Roven at the 2008 Scream Awards and asked him if The Flash was moving forward at Warner Bros., but it doesn't look like anything is happening:
Roven also told us that there is "no momentum" on comic book adaptation The Flash at Warner Bros. Pictures.
It was almost exactly a year ago that David Dobkin (Fred Claus) was announced as the director. At that time, Dobkin said his film would come after George Miller's "Justice League" movie and that it would be set in the same universe.
Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert, The Flash has the ability to run and move extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes and violate certain laws of physics, like time travel.

DC can't make a movie besides Batman and Watchmen. I mean seriously Superman as a DARK character? He's the polar oppisite of Batman. He stands for truth and jusice. Not pummeling common criminals. As much as I like Flash, I'm glad this is at a standstill. DC will just butcher this one like they did with Superman Returns.

We want a Shazam! movie and the Wonder Woman movie. These movies need get ready just for the next year before a Justice League movie.
Warner studios is slow with their comic characters in a movie.

ironman ain't no master piece or it would have some good award nominations >.>

LOLOLOLOLOL Dark Knight is quite possibly the most overrated film of ALL TIME!
Ironman is the mast underrated movie of all time. It DESERVED ATLEAST 98% at Rotten Tomatoes.
I mean if star wars can have it why not Ironman? Which is way better than it.

anders Lol! You are very funny, i needed a laugh after this bad news!! Maybe putting the flick on a hiatus is a blessing in disguise? Remember people; the strike F'ed alot of projects. I just pray that Warner Bros. takes their time with Greenlantern

if this was really supposed to take place in the same universe as the Geroge Miller Justice League, I say good riddance.
I mean, I'm sure (George Miller's Flash) Anton Yelchin is an ok actor, but he looks like he should be playing Kid Flash, not the Justice League version.

No Flash movie? Probably not the right time to bring the character to the screen. Maybe another few years & WB should be able to do it.

Posted by: EMAN on October 18, 2008 at 23:45:58
would love to see but i'd rather them wait...they have plenty of superhero movies coming out its better to wait then to burn out all the superheroes too quickly and mess up the movie

Introduce Flash in another movie like Green Lantern or Superman Man of Steel then spin him off. Its going to take a good actor to make this work because a stand alone Flash movie just doesn't seem interesting.
Green Lantern yes
Shazam yes
Wonder Woman with a greek/roman mythological feel yes
Flash....I don't know- maybe wait until Justice League.
Same with Marvel: Ant Man and Wasp need to be introduced in Avengers not a stand alone film

Uhhhh again? When was he ever on the big screen? Yeah Never!

How lame.
The trend of Whorywood to bring out anything that is popular at the moment, and anything that isn't kitsch, is dropped like a relationship after Christmas.
I like the Flash, and done right, it could be a blockbuster. But when it comes down to it, he's a second rate character, compared to Superman and Batman.
Perhaps, taken into the direction of a comical, almost campy look at him, almost like Hancock, but more colorful.
His enemies list is huge. A rogues gallery?
You can't make it a dark movie. It has to move at the pace of a high speed car chase all the way through the film.
I wish the man who makes this film luck.

This really sucks. I've been wanting to see a Flash movie ever since they canceled the old TV series from the early 90's.
@Marvel: Iron Man was a good movie, but far from being a masterpiece.
@MEMO: I totally agree with you. The Dark Knight is such a good movie. I think its better than The Godfather.

Superman and Batman...now the Watchmen (which will be a one-shot film). That's 3 films...way to set the bar high DC.
Marvel's beating the crap out of you in the film department in regards to wide releases.
If they can't find a way to bring other characters to the screen people will find Batman stale after the 3rd reboot.
