Warner Home Video has supplied us with the trailer for the February 2009 release, Wonder Woman, coming to Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand.

On the mystical island of Themyscira, a proud and fierce warrior race of Amazons have raised a daughter of untold beauty, grace and strength – Princess Diana. When an Army fighter pilot, Steve Trevor, crash-lands on the island, the rebellious and headstrong Diana defies Amazonian law by accompanying Trevor back to civilization. Meanwhile, Ares (the god of War) has escaped his imprisonment at the hands of the Amazonians and has decided to exact his revenge - intending to start a world war that will not only last for centuries – but will wipe out every living being on the planet, starting with the Amazons! It is up to Princess Diana to save her people and the world – by using her gifts and becoming the ultimate Wonder Woman!

The film features the voices of Keri Russell as Wonder Woman, Nathan Fillion as Steve Trevor, Virginia Madsen as Hypolyta, Oliver Platt as Hades, David McCallum as Zeus, Alfred Molina as Ares, and Rosario Dawson as Artemis.

DC looks like they are steadily improving in their efforts recently.

Looks like another flop to me. Sucks that WB has only gotten the animation thing right once, and that was with Batman:Gotham Knight, but hey who knows maybe it'll do okay.

looks aight.

it might have the worst line in a trailer ever though.

"some heroes are made...this one was born".

...I gotta just wait and see..Gothem knight was not produced by this team..so the ad is a bit misleading...and all the other direct to DVD animations from DC sux so bad that I feel they owe me some return on my investments.

when are they gonna bring the live action movie!!
if they are they should cast kate beckinsale

Posted by: Tom on August 4, 2008 at 17:29:24

Looks good. But it's not looking like she can fly yet... Either way, I'll buy it. I'd wish they'd make more of these types of movies.

This seems interesting. I may get it on dvd when it comes out.Looks pretty good.

I agree with amrit when are they get up there with the live action movie it has been in production since 2001 it probably will come out in 2011 and I think is being written now.

Dude. I am so there.

Posted by: Graham on August 4, 2008 at 17:39:48

Yeah! I agree ...where's the damn LIVE-action movie already!? Are the execs at WB & DC stoned or something.

Posted by: RJ on August 4, 2008 at 17:39:57

The ONLY thing more pathetic than people who scream out FIRST!!! are the ones who do it and aren't even first!

LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In other news, this doesn't look like what I was expecting. These companies need to spend a little more money on their animation. If George Lucas, the retard that he is, can do a 3-D computer animation series with 100 episodes (he's notoriously cheap and these were expensive to do), then SURELY DC and Marvel can sink some dough into these straight to DVD movies about their characters. If anyone has seen the 5 minute shorts on the Marvel site with Iron Man, Spidey and the Hulk, then you know what I'm gunning for here.

Live action Wonder Woman, she needs to be tall, have a commanding presence, yet remain feminine. What actress maintains these attributes? A few years ago I would have suggested Cathrine Zeta-Jones. Now, maybe Bekinsale, or Jessica Biel (she got in great shape for Blade III). Definitely someone that also looks Greek(or easily made to look Greek) and yet has classical beauty. Oh yeah, did I mention she has to be able to act(as though she believes in the part)!

Of course the music enhances the trailer, but it looks to be the best DC has created so far. I'm a fan of greek/roman mythology and it appears that they are bringing in a lot of that. Should be pretty cool.

On a side note, you try to register for updates about the movie and their Apache server crashes....sheesh!!!!

Posted by: Metal Mike on August 4, 2008 at 17:49:24

Pretty cool...From Felicity to Wonder Woman.

Posted by: superfluousbat on August 4, 2008 at 17:55:59

Looks about as good as it's going to get. I don't know much when it comes to Wonder Woman so I'm not going to s**t talk it but I don't know it looks ok.

Posted by: leatherbow on August 4, 2008 at 17:59:18

You can't please everyone. It's about time we seen an effort from DC with Wonder Woman.
Now we need to see the movie unfold.

looks sweet but i dunno the voice for some reason doesn't fit...I'm still gonna watch it
Women superheroes kick ass

Posted by: awesome on August 4, 2008 at 18:12:24

looks good but they need to stop this crap with anime and make it live action like with someone better a wonder woman in that thong thing

Posted by: Brian on August 4, 2008 at 18:14:52

Gotham Knight sucked big time dispite having Kevin Conroy doing the voice. This looks much better, but i wont be pre-ordering again, WB will release anything right now, they're bleeding money and The Dark Knight is the only thing they've got going.

Posted by: dfgdfg on August 4, 2008 at 18:17:33

I wonder when american animation will finally catch up to japanese. This looks the same as batman 10 years ago.

Posted by: Darkseid on August 4, 2008 at 18:17:38

Writers strike messed up the live action movie and now there is a possible actors strike. I'm not sure if Joss Whedon is making it or someone else is directing now. they still have a release date for next year. who knows if that will actually happen or not

Posted by: Mantronix on August 4, 2008 at 18:19:50

About time waaaaaaaaaaaay long over due, what about Black Canary. The Green Lantern, The Flash, Dr Fate, The Phantom Stranger come on DC you take too long in promoting other Hero's.
