Tyrese Gibson a Thundercat?

Superhero Hype! got a chance to speak with rapidly rising star Tyrese Gibson at the Death Race junket in San Diego on Sunday. We'll have the full video interview soon, but he did fill us in on another big project for him that will hopefully be happening the near future: Thundercats!
Tyrese said that he's been very involved in the attempt to bring the classic '80s cartoon series to the big screen and seemed to hint that a deal is very nearly complete. We asked him what character he'd be playing and he just smiled and said that there's a number of options on the table.
Late last year, the project was announced as a CG-animated feature at Warner Bros. Pictures that would be directed by video game veteran Jerry O'Flaherty. Whether that still stands is unknown.
Look for the full interview soon!

eh, i'll wait until a trailer comes out before i say anything about this movie. i use to LOVE the cartoon series so hopefully this will be good. i wonder if they were to make another TMNT movie if Guillermo Del Toro could pull it off. That be so sick if he directed some TMNT movies, and the company could just dismiss the TMNT CGI movie as a dissapointment or something. Like Marvel did with the hulk and the punisher.

OK...I didn't take the time to read past the first page BUT...OF COURSE "Panthro" was 'black'!! Are you all so 'P.C.-blinded' that you can't call the 'black guy' the 'Black Guy'??
Panthro was a brother to the N'th degree! We all knew it!
I agree that D'Jiamon (sp?) would make an OK Panthro, but we need a dude that can ACTUALLY SPEAK ENGLISH!!
Lion'O- open
Cheetar'A- Eliza D'Ushku?
Panth'Ro- Tyreese (sp?) OR The dude that played 'Blade'. Rapper from the '90's
Tig'ra- David Boreanaz of 'Angel' and 'Bones'
Any more?

!!!!!!!RETHINK!!!!!
OK....Hear me out....
Lion'O needs to be a clean-cut, buff boy. I'm about to REALLY piss people off: Ashton.
Hear me out! Pump him up, ala "300", and teach him to JUST be a young man enthralled with his newfound power, and I think he could do it! He's also young enough to play the 'child' as well...Voicewise at least.
Someone mentioned a few wrestlers...I agree. Batista as the BODY of Mum'ra. He's RIDICULOUSLY built. Donald Sutherland for the voice. SO much talent!
Thoughts??
