Bryan Singer Adapting Freedom Formula
July 24, 2008
Bryan Singer's Bad Hat Harry Productions has teamed with Radical Pictures to develop a live-action feature from "Freedom Formula," a five-issue comic book series created by Edmund Shern, reports Variety.
Radical Publishing is introducing the comic book at Comic-Con, and it will be released in August.
It's described as a futuristic Top Gun in which racing exo-suits have replaced fighter jets. The story focuses on a genetically engineered racer who learns that his bloodline has the power to change society.
Singer will produce with Radical's Barry Levine. Jesse Berger, Edmund Shern, Alex Garcia and Michael Zoumas will be executive producers.
"This is a timeless story about young people struggling to break free of authority. That's what ultimately appealed to me," Singer said.

what's with singer adapting all these comic books? before x-men, he never read one single book.

This is just an announcement people, bare in mind it says Singer is producing NOT directing. No script writer was announced, nore anything else aside from producers.
Singer could very well do Man of Steel then do this.

"this is a timeless story about young people struggling to break free of authority" geez that kills it for me already...we don't need timeless....we're bored of timeless..where has all the creativity gone...and i agree...get to work on man of steel..go watch dark knight singer..learn something

he should focus on man of steel or quit it altogether.

For those who may've missed it:
"Hey, this is probably Singer's take on the sequel that is just around the corner:
Singerman 2, POS (not a typo)
Mis-directed by Bryan 'BS' Singerman
Starring Brandon 'BJ' Routhman (His name is Rowwwwth, man)
Also starring Kevin 'Hack-Man' Spaced
Kate Bulemic
Kumar
Rigimortis as Perry
Cyclops as Richard, and
the Brat, as the kid
( Also featuring an assortment of Singerman's 'buddies' *ahem* in 'supporting' roles. ;)
Work in progress, but basically featuring more stalking, while Singerman tries to figure a way to 'weasel' into Lois' life, short of knocking off Richard. Hey, don't put it past him, right? Lois, meanwhile, has to try & pursuade the Brat to hide his powers, but she's not too successful when he fights back against bullies, causing a stir. Perry, meanwhile, is comatose, & Jimmy's baking Clark another cake. ;)
Film starts off slowly, with more lifting 'increasingly heavier things', that is, until 'Hack-Man' gets involved, complete with nostalgia kick. At his side is Kumar. Hey, isn't he dead? No, remember, this is Singerman, it doesn't HAVE to make sense. And besides, it's a 'vague' sequel to the 1st 'vague' sequel, so pick & choose! Besides, it's a non-speaking role, anyway!
Hack-Man, disappointed in his last land deal, decides to go back to his roots, ALL the way to Superman 2. Remember, Zod promised him Australia, but the REAL Supes prevented it. Soooo.....now's as good a time as any to collect.
No super-villain for Singerman to punch? No need to worry, New Krypton, which has settled in orbit around Uranus (ha!), has 'grown' it's own life form. Could it be Bizarro? Probably not, because even if it SHOULD be, Singer will execute 'creative license' & it'll be a whole NEW character, never before seen in the comics! So go ahead, rule out Doomsday, Darkseid, AND Brainiac while we're at it. Can't Singer use ANY comics villains?! Maybe he could, if he knew what a comic book is. But no fear, Donner used Zod, & Stamp is still making films! So voila!!!!!
Like I said, this is a work in progress, but don't worry about a resolution. Singerman 2, POS will leave you JUST AS DISAPPOINTED as the 1st installment!:}"

i don't mind him talking about all this other stuff.. but we fans want to hear about superman!

Yet again another casualty in the force of nature known only as "Brian Singer" however in this case it looks like officials have changed gears from sacrificing noteworthy franchises to him so that he can ruin them (As we all remember the damage done by Superman Returns) and it seems now that officials are throwing him pre-ruined scripts so that he can't do any more damage and, hopefully, aid the franchises which are already decimated by him.
More on this soon, til then pray for a better tomorrow- as well as many reboots to come.

I dunno, dawg, if Bryan Singer really had anything solid on Supes, this week is as good as any to talk about. With the Comicon and all. However, this week all we heard was that he was producing Capeshooters and Freedom Formula. Now, he's on Valkyrie, due to Mayor of Castro Street and producing Capeshooters and Freedom Formula and Do you want me to kill him?(no, that's the title of a movie!)
I really don't think he'll do Man of Steel. That's all.

The ecto suits will also be in fabulous bright colors with nipples and fantastic asses. Each shooting penis-shaped missles at each other that explode white acid-fluid all over the glissening tech. Oh and the main character will be a loser stalker.

Singer is starting to really piss me off. I loved him but he ****ed up Superman and hes avoiding a second one for all these other ****ty projects. FOCUS BRYAN!!

Looks like Singer's trying to use Bad Hat Harry productions to cash in on the superphenomenon.

the Wachowski brothers should direct the justice league and singer should direct man of steel.if im singer with all this rumors about his direction of man of steel.i will give my all not for me but for superman.i say superman returns is still the best superman movie ever done ,and we all should be thank you for that give the singer some space he will make the man of steel the best ever movie trust me.....think about it people

where did this title come from and who is this Edmund Shern? Never heard of him. Anyway, sounds like another expensive, over-elaborate idea.
Posted by: Timstuff on July 25, 2008 at 03:23:06
It sounds like "Robot Jox," but with racing instead of fighting.
BTW, I think that this should be the final nail in the coffin that holds any SR fanboy's hopes of getting an SR sequel. Time for a reboot, baby!

REBOOT isn't just the name of an awesome CG show in the 90's :)

Let Bryan Singer go and ruin all of those comic books. WB should let Mark Miller have his shot at the Man of Steel. God knows Singer can't do anything with it. All of these movies he is 'producing' is just proving he has other things on his mind right now.
Posted by: In the shadows on July 25, 2008 at 08:03:45
He think he's done with M.O.S., we just don't know it yet.
Posted by: initial on July 25, 2008 at 08:16:57
i liked this idea better when it was called 'centurions: power x-treme'. whatever keeps him away from superman is fine with me.

obviously after yet another debacle on the over-budget Valkyrie production and the failed Superman Returns, Singer is skulking off to his production company to focus on other projects. Those of you who are still waiting for him to make some kind of announcement about doing a sequel to Singerman are in for a long wait. Hopefully the script pitches that Millar and Leterrier go well and we get a rebooted Supes franchise by 2011-2012

@heay---I usually dont comment on other comments but the Wachowski Bros...Let me see they messed up the Matrix Trilogy and they did the super Flop and expensive "Speed Racer"..I dont think the Wachowski siblings, that right siblings cause Larry Wachowski is now Lana or Laura Wachowski..Joel Silver can deny all he wants buy that guy is now a girl..no thanks. Bryan Singer did enough damage to Supes, so lets bring the Wachowski Siblings to mess up the JLA...Thats a sure fire way for Warner Bros to kill to franchises instead of just one..People Superman Returns costed 310 million to make once u factor in marketing costs and only made 391 million world wide for a profit of $81 million, that is a flop...Warner Bros was expecting 500 million worldwide. Bryan Singer is scared to touch the project cause if the next one flops, he wont be directing anymore summer blockbuster movies and it will be career killer for him.

Sounds like Speed Racer in the sky...

Personally, I think he should get booted from Man of Steel. Superman Returns should have been one of the biggest and most memorable movies in this whole comic book movie explosion. Why? Because it's friggin' Superman!! Now -- unfortunately -- thanks to Singer, it will barely be remembered as a blip on the radar screen, even as expensive and hyped up as it was. I almost would rather have seen how Tim Burton and Nic Cage's version would have turned out.

Seriously are there no other Directors in Hollywood...?
