June 24, 2008

Columbia Pictures has provided us with the full gallery of photos for Hancock, directed by Peter Berg and starring Will Smith, Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman.

In the action-dramedy, opening at 7pm on July 1st, Smith plays Hancock - edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood. Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough – as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think – until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet – and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary (Theron), insists that he's a lost cause.

His "super" outfit is practically Nightwing's, but I"ll definitely check this out.

Hopefully it outdoes "Mystery Men" at least, which I thought was fun but not awesome.

Hell, yeah! Hancock is gonna rock!

No interest in supporting Will Smith's career anymore. I was a BIG fan of his until recently. If he could've just kept his big mouth shut about his political views like Daniel Day Lewis and Dwayne Johnson (not to mention his love of Scientology), I might have been eager, like I used to, to see his newest screen event...NO MORE. I MEAN, HOW THE HELL DOES FILMING MOVIES GIVE THESE IDIOTS THE EXPERTISE TO COMMENT ON POLITICS. I'm no Bush fan, and I sure as hell am scared McCain...But Obama freaks me out more than the rest. I'd rather vote in Clinton or Romney than those two whack jobs. Nuff Said.

For the record, I was very interested in seeing this movie...until Mr. Smith started in on the interviews. Oh well.

I saw a screening last night. It's awful. And doesn't get eveb remotely interesting under Charlize throws a plot twist. Those with kids, be ware - very violent and dark for PG-13, Sony fought hard against the MPAA and won, reversing the R. In addition to be a poor script, I found it and him homophobic in several parts

I guess the exact same right you have to comment on politics. What a hypocrite. As a Democrat I have never once thought that I wouldn't go see a movie with Arnold, or Mel, or Bruce just becuase of their politics. It is there opinion. I don't agree with it but I don't need to dislike them to make my beliefs any more valid. Jeez... people like you (and you are a Bush fan, me thinks) need to stop thinking that you have to hate someone you disagree with. Then maybe we can get back to being a more civil society.

Or, to make a long post less long... grow up.

I have been a Peter Berg fan since "Very Bad Things" and has put out some good movies. Plus Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron together again should be good. They were pretty funny together in the 3rd season of Arrested Development. Oh and Chris, I bet you didn't know that Romney actually wears magic underwear. And Clinton in office again? With George Bush Sr. being Reagan's Vice-Pres., a Bush or a Clinton has been in the White House for over 2 decades. You telling me these are the only two families capable of running the country? Thought this was a democracy, not a revolving door! Get rid of the two party mentality and think independently!

EXCUSE ME, but apparently you didn't read my comment in its complete format. I never claimed to be Dem or Rep...and I sure as HELL am not a Bush fan. In fact, I said that I would rather CLINTON, a Dem, or Romney, a Rep, over Obama. There is nothing hypocritical of what I said. I am no political expert, and I really do not believe many of these Hollywood elite are either. Their need and obsession with telling people who to vote for is based on the symptematic narcissism that is HOLLYWOOD. GET THE TALKING POINTS OF ONE'S COMMENTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU SOUND LIKE AN IDIOT WHEN YOU ATTACK...but thank you for reading. Next!!!

so I can't type - "It doesn't EVEN get remotely interesting UNTIL Charlize throw a plot twist." And beware should have been one word.

" I MEAN, HOW THE HELL DOES FILMING MOVIES GIVE THESE IDIOTS THE EXPERTISE TO COMMENT ON POLITICS."

It doesn't. Being an American does, just as it gave you when you gave your opinion. And if you don't want to go see their movies because you don't agree with their politics or religious affiliations, it certainly is your right. I think when Krugeri was calling you a hypocrite, he was implying that you were giving your political opinions while decrying actors for having political opinions of their own. I personally stopped seeing Mel Gibson movies when he started sounding more like a Auschwitz guard than an actor, but as an American that understands the value of freedom of speech, as much as I dislike the little Nazi, I would still defend his right to be a publicly drunken ******.

As far as Hancock goes, none of the actors in this movie really impress me. As far as I'm concerned, if Theron isn't naked and screwing someone in a film, she shouldn't be in it. Will Smith is okay, and Bateman will always be a sidekick. It's a special effects romp that will make a moderate amount of money and appear on DVD in 6 months, if not sooner. I might just download it, as I'm pretty sick of paying $10 for tickets to see mediocre films.

Sorry about the couple of mistakes on my last post, anyway, people donate money to their churches and state their political views everyday.

Will Smith is a good actor, he can pull off the serious and comedic roles. If he is a Scientologist who cares? All religions have cr@zies, think Christians don't? Watch the documentary Jesus Camp, pretty scary stuff....

winged avenger, your opinion of my mother has no bearing upon the fact that you, sir, are still a moron.
