A couple of weeks ago, Platinum Studios announced they are bringing Top Cow's comic book franchise Witchblade to the big screen. While no actress has been announced for the lead role, the company has already released a teaser poster and has launched a teaser site for the film. The comic book introduced the "Witchblade" mythology, which centers on an ornate jewel-encrusted gauntlet that gives extraordinary powers to the wearer, a specially chosen female from each generation.

I wonder who they will get for the main role?

Posted by: Dumbass on May 27, 2008 at 00:40:46

The girl is hot and I would love to see her in the flick but Im pretty sure that the title character is supposed to be a brunette not a redhead...oh well. Also I agree with Batfan, nothing is going to get my attention more this summer than The Dark Knight. Although hearing that Witchblade is going to be made is awesome. Now if only they do it right...

It'll be nice if they finally make something based on the Witchblade comic that DOESN'T suck.

Wow, that's fantastic.

... I never got the huge appeal of Witchblade. Never got into the comic or the anime. The poster looks rather lame to me honestly.

I've always loved the Witchblade comics so i'm hoping they stick as close to the origin as possible. With the right script, director, producer, and cast not to mention a well balanced story and special affects I think this film has potential.

I READ A WEEK AGO THE ACTRESS WAS GONNA BE EITHER MEGAN FOX OR ELISHA CUTHBERT

I think Megan Fox has more of a Sara Pezzini look to her and the body to pull off that but she needs to step up her acting skills because she was almost absent next to Shia Lebouf in Transformers...I think an unknown actress would be the better way to go and may be more willing to be close to naked in that Witchblade piece.
If they go that route then this will most likely be an R flick for sure.....a PG-13 Witchblade just doesn't sound right imo.

They should have this movie rated R alright. They should do a better gauntlet design. Also have Rob Cohen or Stephen Sommers or even Christopher Nolan direct? maybe.

Posted by: StarBlazer101 on May 27, 2008 at 02:10:11

i say this movie should have like a super hot sex scene yah :D

Posted by: maldito on May 27, 2008 at 02:19:34

id go for megan fox too.. she just need to polish her acting, shes going to be hot for the role

I must say, this is a very well done teaser poster.

Posted by: Spyder121 on May 27, 2008 at 02:40:43

To those worried about Witchblade interfering with The Dark Knight, pay a bit closer attention to the giant "2009" release date on the poster.

Posted by: FanBoiiiii on May 27, 2008 at 03:23:06

Please make Witchblade rated MA.

Posted by: puddin on May 27, 2008 at 04:08:38

Megan Fox I hope the rumor is true.
Hope it's more than a spank fest though.

Posted by: Adab on May 27, 2008 at 05:18:43

Never read Witchblade, but I'd still be ready to watch it.

So, the word g-a-y is automatically edited, huh? Interesting.
