Another Transformers 2 Casting Call

Heery Casting has posted a second casting call for Transformers 2. This time they are only looking for SAG members:

TRANSFORMERS 2 in Philadelphia!
We are looking for SAG background talent for the new Dreamworks feature film, "Transformers 2", directed by Michael Bay.

Needed are SAG background men and women, ages 18-65, all ethnicities, for scenes to shoot in the Philadelphia, PA and Princeton, NJ areas. Shooting will take place in June 2008.

We especially need college-age talent for this project.

If interested and available, please e-mail a picture/resume to Tr2philadelphia@gmail.com

If your headshot is older than one year, do NOT send it. Instead, send a recent snapshot - that has you alone in the picture – a close-up is preferred (no party pictures holding a beer…)
Your picture must be attached as a ".jpeg” file.
Be sure to include all contact information, height and weight and SAG number in the body of the e-mail. Put "SAG" in the subject line.

We will be announcing an open call for NON-UNION talent soon- stay tuned!

Does anyone not think that looks a bit weird. They are asking for people to email pictures of themselves to a random email address, where no one can call them to see if its real. don't blame me if your mug ends up all over the internet, and I dont mean as publicity for the new Transformers movie......

To everybody wondering if this is legit..

It is. Heeery casting is one of the two biggest casting agencies in Philly. This was also listed on the philadelphia film office's website.

Often times casting agencies will set up temporary gmail accounts to receive photos and submissions for a project like this. So instead of overloading their own servers and email accounts, they have a special one set up dedicated to that particular project.

as for photos, they're looking for headshots or resumes. And if nothing recent, then they ask for a snapshot. It's all normal stuff.

I personal domain email address has the likihood of being hacked/attacked at the Hosting company level whereas a Gmail account has Google's corporate server securities in place.

How do you get to be a SAG member? Do you have to be in the entertainment business to be a SAG member?

It kind a suck that they're looking for local SAG members and extras. I am from California and I don't forsee TF2 being here anytime in the near future. I don't understand why they don't accept extras from other states. Can someone tell me why?

To be a SAG member you need at least 2 working credits. And then a couple of grand in dues, and then very cheap annual dues to stay in the Union.

And they're taking local extras because that's where filming is taking place. I mean, if you want to fly out to philly i'm sure they'd take you. But the whole idea is to keep things cheap. So they get ppl who live in the area who can spare a day or two to come and hang out and make a couple hundred bucks.
