Exclusive: The New Hellboy II One-Sheet!
Source:Superhero Hype!
May 16, 2008

Superhero Hype!, ComingSoon.net and ShockTillYouDrop.com are today exclusively debuting the new one-sheet for writer/director Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II: The Golden Army, hitting theaters on July 11.

In the sequel, an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, and hell on Earth is ready to erupt. A ruthless leader who treads the world above and the one below defies his bloodline and awakens an unstoppable army of creatures. Now, it's up to the planet's toughest, roughest superhero to battle the merciless dictator and his marauders. He may be red. He may be horned. He may be misunderstood. But when you need the job done right, it's time to call in Hellboy (Ron Perlman).

Along with his expanding team in the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Development--pyrokinetic girlfriend Liz (Selma Blair), aquatic empath Abe (Doug Jones) and protoplasmic mystic Johann--the BPRD will travel between the surface strata and the unseen magical one, where creatures of fantasy become corporeal. And Hellboy, a creature of two worlds who's accepted by neither, must choose between the life he knows and an unknown destiny that beckons him.

seems more serious and less "cartoony" than the others from the first movie.

A+

C'mon, this guy has an indestructible fist. When he hits the ground HAVE HIM HITTING THE GROUND!

The ground fissuring open with rocks flying would be nice.
But what do we get...a few dislodged weeds?

Okay...rant over. Good tag line, though.

thats a really cool picture, really awesome background and the smoking gun is a classic. i dont know much about this movie i hear that seth macfarlane of family guy fame is doing a voice for a character that should be very interesting, maybe it will sound jus like stewie, it should be pretty good tho, del toro really showed his chops with Pan's

Nice poster. Haven't got a clue what to expect looking at that though, other than a likely serious ass kicking.

i believe this movie will do well, the first movie was good and enjoyed it, even though i didnt know much about the comic book before hand. i wish the director all the luck when it comes out, i will be sure to be there!

To be perfectly honest, I liked Batman Begins a lot more than I liked Hellboy, but based on the trailers so far... I am about a thousand times more excited for Hellboy 2 than I am for the Dark Knight.

TDK's trailers have all been pretty MEH if you ask me. And I seem to be the only one still not sold on Ledger's Joker.

We'll see...

SUH-weeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!
I can't wait!!!

I enjoyed the first Hellboy quite a bit. I'm excited to see this one even more. What a summer for comic book geeks like myself. Vortex...I agree with you to some extent. As you say though, we'll see.... I'll be in line come 7-11.. I'm in Nevada.. isn't it 7 come 11? lol

Doesn't Hellboy have hooves in the comic? Or am I missing something?

Posted by: Devilishly Sweet on May 16, 2008 at 11:54:03

It sssookay. Not bad. Love the pose though. I just hope it is better than the first.

Sweet Effing Poster!

Posted by: Hellboy on May 16, 2008 at 12:16:08

NewFrontiersman, you are correct. but in the films he just wears boots so we never see the hooves. and as to why, your guess is as good as mine.

The first Hell Boy was ok movie with a very anticlimactic ending that didn’t even require Hell Boy (If you can kill a God with some grenades, why not send some black ops guy).

Part 2 looks like a vast improvement. Good for them!

the first one was great. i loved it. it definately had it's flaws. but i don't care. i still like it. i just can't wait for this one because then everyone who hated the first one will like the sequel. especially since guillermo del toro is probably getting free range with this movie. after pan's labyrinth the studios are probably trusting him enough to let him do what he wants wit it.
bye bye

Spectral Motion did make hooves for Ron to try out, but they were too cumbersome and at times downright dangerous for Ron to work in, hence the boots. But you can see s (CG) glimpse of them in the first film in HB's first scene where he is weight-training. Blink and you'll miss them.

Love the poster - simple, succinct and to the point without giving anything away.
