Bruce Boxleitner Joins Heroes
May 8, 2008
TV Guide reports that veteran actor Bruce Boxleitner ("Babylon 5," "Scarecrow and Mrs. King," "How the West Was Won") has landed a top-secret recurring role in NBC's "Heroes."
The magazine says the role was originally going to be modeled after Sen. John McCain. The character has since been reconceived and is expected to be sharing scenes with a female series regular.
They add that, although the show is introducing some new faces next season, the primary focus will remain "on the core characters from the pilot."

Awesome, Senator Kelly- er- totally original yet-another-character-to-introduce sounds more fun than a barrel full of monkeys!
But seriously, first season was introducing the characters, (including a psychopath that eats brains because.....you know.......that's what you do when you're a psychopath.....you eat brains........) Second consists of more characters and absurd storylines. NOW the next season of the "PHENOM OF THE DECADE" is following the same formula as before- introducing ANOTHER band of characters.
I mean wow, some people say phenom- I say cluster**** but whatever. Enjoy.

As long as that Senator is Tron...

This is the key to a new order. This casting decision means freedom.

If there isn't any Data Disc dueling this next season, it will be total fail.

i bet you he's gonna play peters and nathens father because he has similarities to the glipse you see of him in the photo in seasons two, it would be great if their father is a baddie and turns out to be as powerfull as peter who agrees??????????

Everyone needs to stop *****ing...Kringe already said he's sorry for the crappy season 2...how about we wait until September to declare Heroes officially dead?
Posted by: orange cinema on May 8, 2008 at 03:34:54
in an old rolling stone interview, kring was going on about all the errors that 'lost' had made, and how he intended to avoid them in heroes...fast forward to the newest anouncements about 'the flash' and 'sen kelly' and the big dose of kharma he's swallowing. i really pull for this show because it can be fun, but they keep digging their graves deeper and deeper. (meanwhile lost is ****ing rock'n'rolla baby!)

^^^^^^^^^^^^
im sorry but lost is a god awful show. hay lets try and throw as many twists in a show. might aswell be watching an M. Night Shyamalan movie. garbage
on the main note im glad to see heroes is recruiting again, hopefully the mistakes of the second season will be rectified.

Enough with the Lost bashing - that show got great again in season 3 and so far season 4 has been the best yet.
He does look like Senator Kelly in the picture but they won't do him up like that on the show. I think Tim Kring had trouble in season 2 because he killed off some of the best characters in season 1 and had a weak story for the next season.
24 season 5 was amazing but the trouble with killing lots of characters is you don't have any cool people left for next year.
The moral of the story is plan ahead.

heroes is not dead, sorry but i wont say season 2 was bad. i've seen bad shows, jst cas it wasnt as epic as season 1 doesnt make it bad. i have faith. this season i dont care bout new characters, i wanna see old ones evolve like matt, his powers r way cooler now. i think everyone else needs to do the same especially peter. and peter better not lose memory or something and have to re-learn he has powers bcas i think that happened to much. n y not said hiro back in time n bring his girl 2 da future.

^^^^Jasonocus really thinks Heroes Season 2 wasnt bad? It was awful. Like, X-MEN 3 AWFUL. But I love the show and willing to give it another chance after the lackluster Season 2.
The problem with Heroes is that it builds all this hype. It has such potential to kill (in a good way) a storyline and just make things mind-blowing.
But that's the problem. It builds all this hype but has NO DELIVERY. At all. Delivery sucks. We anxiously wait for something to happen, something we've been anticipating knowing there'll be a twist, but the payoff is horrible.
Heroes Season 1 finale and Season 2 were terrible. There were some cool moments like Cautionary Tales (until the end when Mr. Bennet was brought back from the dead. They could've put that off for a while). Maya and Monica were cool characters with cool powers but there was no creativity in their stories or in their power usage.
I hope Monica amps it up and becomes that St. Joan Character. And i hope Maya becomes a misguided villain.

I hope Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje joins the cast as a black-suited special ops agent with a mini gun who helps Noah Bennett and Clair fight crime. At least then he wouldn't be wasting his time or talent.
Oops, that's a G.I.J.O.E. comment.
Hooray for Bruce Boxleitner!

All HEROES, or any show needs to do to be good is make sure you can't predict what will happen next & pick up the pace. Unfortunately, most time you can predict the next line of dialogue & cook a turkey in between. The fact most shows are coming in at maybe 38.5, minutes of actual program per hour, is laughable.
Best of luck. . ..

Lost hasnt made any errors imo. I like Heroes but its popcorn entertainment. Freak of the week type stuff.

I must be in the minority. I thought season 2 was good. I thought they did a good job and I enjoyed the new characters. Granted season 2 was not as good as season 1, but it wasnt a stinker either. It was leaps and bounds better then X3.

The whole problem is the medium. It is just too expensive to do cool stuff for TV. It would be better if shows like Heroes, Lost, and Star Trek were to use the season (or seasons) to build up to an actual movie. That way you have a big screen, bigger budget movie with a built in audience.
The entire problem with season 2 was the strike. It was pretty obvious to everyone who tracks the industry that it was coming. I think that a lot of what we (me included) where unhappy with was a result of figuring out how to potentially reduce the show down to something that would fit in pre-strike. It would have been hard to cut any of the stories from season 2 so the overall result was a hurried mess with some somewhat interesting characters which are never really developed.
Hopefully the writers took some time during the strike to ponder how to make this season better.

i'm very happy with this decision.

Season 2 fell flat on it's face for the 1st few episodes but picked up steam for the finale and lead in to Season 3. So Season 2 was not a total loss.
The only thing that truly could have been done away with was Claires child like behavior compared to how she grew in Season 1, the absolutely cheesiest moment in recent TV history where she and Superboy are giggling like tards as they use some of the shows worst effects ever.
Then there was Peter knocked down to dumb nieve guy role again, when he should be practicing with his powers to become the uber kick asser that I believe and hope we'll see in Season 3.
And finally, the illegal immigrants that were introduced. These were the only characters that I hoped would have had a boulder fall on them or had a dump truck smush them so there would be no chance they would EVER return. I hated their story not because they are illegals, but because it was a really lame way of bringing Sylar back.
Oh well, I have plenty of hope though that Season 3 will deliver what we want this time.

This is such a good step in character casting. Loved him in Babylon 5, sure to love him in Heroes Season 3.

I thought season two had its moments but for the most part was a load of steaming crap. They did manage to get me excited for season tree though

First, plant pot, you are cracking me up over here. Second, the prob w/ second season was obviously the strike. Come on guys, this show has the potential of becoming one of the greatest geek shows of all times...Let's not kill it. Give it a few more seasons, trust me, it will be banging...And, TC, what a great idea, seriously...A show on tv that introduces characters and a plot, then, season finale is a big budget big screen flick. Seriously, bro, awesome idea...Def something I would enjoy.
Peace
