The Incredible Hulk Updates From NYCC

April 19, 2008
Universal Pictures presented The Incredible Hulk at the New York Comic-Con today where it was revealed that Lou Ferrigno's role in the film is not just a cameo.
Director Louis Leterrier offered Ferrigno a job doing the voice of the Hulk saying "Hulk Smash!" at the panel. We're not sure if he was just joking about that, but Ferrigno is definitely involved.
They also confirmed that Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark will appear in the movie and they showed a clip of Downey Jr. walking into a seedy bar and meeting General Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt) to talk about his "problem."
They also showed some clips of Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) talking to Ross about being given a "super venom" that would turn him into a "Super soldier."
They showed a bit of that process and then they showed an extended scene of Banner being chased by Ross and the army and fighting with Blonsky (in non-Abomination) form, which makes up a good part of the new trailer that will be in front of Iron Man.
We'll have more on all this soon, stay tuned.

you would think they would be promoting it a bit harder... i wonder if they know how bad it truly is?

Does this mean that FINALLY Marvel movies are going to acknowledge each othere? i liked the two scenes in the 2 Joel Schumacher Batman movies that mentioned, "this is why Superman works alone" and " he must be halfway to Metropolis by now", theres been quiet a few Marvel movies now and despite the fact that different studios do them, Ari Arad seems tobe involved in all of them? so im hopeing that this is the start of movie cross overs! let everyone know theres a big " Marvel" universe out there.

saw the word "SuperSolider" there above and totally lost track that this is about hulk.
When I think of SuperSolider I think of only one person ~ Captain America :)
I really really wish, for a quality Captain America film to be made :/.

Am I the only one who's noticed the the CGI from the clips we've seen thus far doesn't look substantially better than what we saw six years ago.
Don't get me wrong, story will always be king, but the visuals are definitely lacking especially compared to other top end blockbusters coming out. Should've used WETA.

how bad what truly is? better not be referring to the movie, that wouldnt even make any bloody sense...being that the public, including yourself, has never seen the ****in thing.

I agree with devon how can you say "i wonder if they know how bad it truly is?" they would know better then you so shut your trap. let them finish the CG so people like you might keep your mouths shut and the trailers will come when they are ready they are not trying to hide anything. Hulk is an extremely CG film and it started filming monthes after iron Man so it started pretty late in the game

I was there. The scene with Hulk fighting Blonsky was AWESOME.

As far as Capt. America is concerned, I hope they leave the first movie in the '40's. Every time there is an incarnation of Capt. America he's rushed into the present day, neglecting his WWII past; which, is what created and defined the character. Great respect should be paid to those roots. If it isn't, then it will be another lousy version of Captain America.
Hopefully, Marvel has someone reading these message boards.

I think that the entire Captain America film should take place in WWII... Have it end with him falling into the icy North Atlantic... THEN they can thaw out CAP at the beginning of the AVENGERS film...

I think the reason for the lack of promotion for this movie is to let Iron Man shine first. I think once Iron Man is released they will kick in the Hulk promotion.

I love the fact that Stark is going to be in it. This is the beginning of the Avengers!!

Wow, finally Marvel decides to do a cross over with its characters. Tony Stark meeting Gr. Ross, thats cool. They should do this from now on in Marvel movies. (i.e Spider-man in a X-men movie or vise versa)

Could be a lead in for a she hulk film aswell . ( Nic Cage said he was interested in being involved in if that ever got made )
Posted by: Bill on April 19, 2008 at 19:25:55
Does this really count as the first comic movie cross over? cause i remember seeing a Thomas Jane in black in Spiderman 2 and that came out the same year as Punisher.

"you would think they would be promoting it a bit harder... i wonder if they know how bad it truly is?"
They're promoting it at the NYCC, how much promoting do you ****ing want!?
Posted by: Eddie Vertigo on April 19, 2008 at 19:40:57
Crossovers have been really fun in the comic books, I'm glad they're finally doing it in the movies. My big wish would be to see Spider-Man, Hulk, and Wolverine get together for one, big adventure of some kind!
Posted by: cleftasunder on April 19, 2008 at 19:41:02
They'll start promoting it harder AFTER Iron Man opens. They want people looking forward to that for now.
It's basic marketing really. If you have two products wouldn't you put the spotlight on the product that is debuting first?

the reason they haven't referenced each other is because the rights have been with different companies. The producers have nothing to do with it.

Sounds like a early set up to an avengers movie down the line.
Posted by: daniel clavette on April 19, 2008 at 20:36:41
That was truly cool .
