Huzzah! More flashy goodness from the Watchowskis. I, for one, am looking forward to this movie. Although I don't expect it to be as frigmazing as TDK or Iron Man may be, I still think it'll be a fun, enjoyable movie. Speed Racer is one anime that can be easily adapted for western audiences, unlike Dragonball. So, huzzah, Speed Racer. Here he comes.

Notice a distinct lack of F***t in this post.

Yes, Speed Racer... at last we see you come to the big screen.

Seemed a bit more edgier than the previous trailers we've seen. Looks like it might do better than I first gave it.

I'm surprised that they didn't mention the "mini" clips when you go in via the kids page. Click on the letters on the steering wheel.

I love what I see. I think this will be a sleeper hit. It looks very entertaining. Because they are so faithful I'm pretty sure they will duplicate the magic of SR on the Big screen. I'll be there for sure

definitely one of the better trailers.

Looks Beautiful and Entertaining! I am SO there!!!

"frigmazing"? really, dude. come on, now.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!

Racer X's identity is not hidden as it was in the series. An updated version has Racer X keeping his anonymous persona only as a marketing gimmick to sell products. He envies his younger brother's integrity and love of the game. It reminds him of a younger, idealistic version of himself before he sold out.

Chim chim is all CGI.

Great trailer...Can't wait for the movie:)

Still think Iron Man and The Dark Knight will kick ass!

Posted by: sncfrk on April 14, 2008 at 02:50:06

I don't think chim chim is completely CGI.
my brother auditioned for the role of Spritle, and they said that they were using a real monkey for at least part of the shoot. Unless they changed their minds...

Posted by: Diaxiann on April 14, 2008 at 02:51:30

Hey, come on now bob loblaw. I can make up words if I want. Unlike you, who enjoy making up information.

Chim Chim is a real monkey, and I'm pretty sure your thing about Race X is fake, although I'm not sure.

I know this is supposed to a family film, but it looks like it won't be too bad. The Mach-5 looks awesome.

Posted by: fjjajfaj on April 14, 2008 at 03:18:10

Why is this at SHH?

Posted by: GK1 on April 14, 2008 at 03:36:45

I actually like the idea of Rex having the Mach 4 at first.

this movie will be full of win

this movie is not necessary, why bother doin it? this guys could make something bigger and better, this is a lot of cg, this movie will make 300 very realistic lol

Holy ****! My jaw ****ing dropped!

Posted by: Requiett on April 14, 2008 at 06:13:48

Katana, you have to remember: The Wachowskis are anime freaks. I thought The Matrix should've made that obvious. They're getting to make one of their childhood favorites. You wouldn't do the same?

Posted by: kwasmand on April 14, 2008 at 07:47:08

Honestly, we can't keep calling this movie "too kiddy". Did you see those freaking machine guns? I have no idea where the hate for this movie is coming from.

Posted by: GooberBoob on April 14, 2008 at 08:48:01

Why don't the Wachowski Brothers make a big block-buster movie of "GiGantor"?

Posted by: Jshot14 on April 14, 2008 at 09:32:10

This looks like it's going to be one of the dumbest film adaptations of hero ever

Posted by: Racer Joe on April 14, 2008 at 09:56:17

Umm the site kinda sucked a little bit. Its too plain for some reason. The kiddie stuff kinda cool (if I was 5 or 7 yrs of age).

Posted by: Rockslide on April 14, 2008 at 10:42:39

This movie looks pretty flippin' cool to me. I don't understand where all the hate for it comes from. Is it because its different? Its totally unique looking? Heaven forbid director's try something new.
