Pure awesome...but enough! Save some for the theater dwellers, please, guys. Can't be showing the whole movie before release, right?

I hope they're planning on hyping HULK like this.

HILARIOUS! Man, Robert Downey Jr. was BORN to play Tony Stark, he's so freakin' funny! AWESOME! That was just so ridiculously entertaining!

hahaha, very good. This is actually building up my own hype :)

I get more and more excited by what I am seeing

Posted by: Lencho on April 12, 2008 at 03:39:59

Funny.

Posted by: cruddle on April 12, 2008 at 03:40:39

Everything about that clip was terrible. The cinematography, the music, the stupid corny "jokes"... why was he yelling at a robot thing? That isnt Tony Stark, and that isnt funny. I dont want funny anyway, I want action. This looks worse with everything I see.

Posted by: GhostCave on April 12, 2008 at 03:45:51

that was an awsome scene i can't wait hehehehe

Thank you, Cruddle for proving what I've been yelling about for three months now.
What have I been yelling about you may ask with mounting anticipation?
That no matter how good the movie turns out or fun it is or how faithful it is to the characters, there will ALWAYS be a loud handful of self-righteous purist fans who will complain about every single second of it.
As for my personal opinion this clip was a little on the goofy side but there's nothing wrong with a little goofiness here and there. I'm still excited for the release.

"I get more and more excited by what I am seeing"

Lol, Lording yourself over the forums isn't enough for you now, eh?

You're crazy.

And just for the sake of being a super nerd, if you want a semi-logical explanation for the whole at the fire extinguisher robot thing, try this little ditty:
It's a device to help drive home the fact that Tony Stark is such a technological genius that his home and work space is cluttered with his inventions. Inventions who's AI are so advanced above the norm that he can speak to them in a conversational way.
On top of that, it could also be said that the extinguisher as well as Jarvis are used to show Tony's comfort with his gadgets, inventions, and machines and his increasing emotional distance from humanity (could work in to an alchoholic subplot in the sequel if you want to get really ambitious).
Personally, I'm not super keen on the whole "Jarvis as a robotic inteligence" thing but it's one of many concessions that I, as a fan, am willing to make so long as the heart and soul of the character remains in tact. See how that works? ya don't sweat the minute details, focus on the bigger picture, and you are easier to please and live a happier and fuller life.
Having said all that, I hope no one ever finds out how much time and thought I put in to that explanation just to appease/shut up some faceless nerd-burger on a movie website.
I am now aware that I am one of the worst kind of nerds and I need to be put down before I reproduce.

And people who ***** about cinemotography are almost always elitist jerks who attempt to make up for their lack of anything worthy of contributing to society by lording their "knowledge" of the film industry over us hapless mortals who just want to sit down and be entertained for a couple hours without turning it in to a friggin thesis paper. Ok, I'm done now.

corny as hell

I really hope this isn't the case with cheesy jokes in every scene.

Not looking good based on all footage seen so far.

Posted by: KilLA on April 12, 2008 at 04:42:57

hey idiot cruddle. he was talking to the robot because everything is voice responsive. way to come off as a pretentious fool

Posted by: KilLA on April 12, 2008 at 04:45:50

how's it corny? he's just playing around and talking to himself. he's not out to make you laugh your little balls off. the whole scene was about him figuring out how to get used to thrust propulsion. it's casual dialogue. John = another idiot who thinks his opinion has weight.

I had a healthy amount of concern over the casting of Robert Downey Jr (who looks a little too much like my best friend Ivo)as Tony Stark. Now I'm just totally stoked to see this film. I think Downey and the film will be incredible.

Two great films I'm looking forward to - The Dark Knight and Iron Man! It's gonna be a great summer.

Amazing how some people get overly sensitive (if not childishly insulting) when one doesn't sing with the choir and expresses valid concerns about a movie. Those folks who decided it was gonna be undoubtedly awesome before even watching the damn thing are as creepy and sheepish as those who hate it blindly. Get a grip, boys!

As far as the movie looks, it's neat and all... but WTF with the silly humor? And I agree with Johnny Ringo, they should stop wasting ammo and restrain themselves from any more clips. This will kill the hype, as people will feel they've seen the whole flick. Can't wait to see it at the premiere next week so I can wash away any doubts and hand Favreau either a gift basket, or a dynamite stick^^

im excited with Iron Man....im the biggest marvel fan there is.....but from wat i saw from trailers and the clips.....the way robert downey jr. portray tony stark.....it isnt tony stark that i kno from the comics...or simply if u guys remember the iron man animated back in '94. tony stark is always serious, dont joke around.....or perhaps its wat jon favrou wanted robert to play like that....it comes down to the director who has full control on what to expect from the actors......y cant they just follow the comic book??? portray how tony stark should be. tony stark is an arrogant son of a b i t c h....especially if u guys read the civil war....after iron man took over SHIELD, he became beyond arrogant or at least read one of the back issues before civil war.....u will pull a list how robert should portray tony stark. but anyway......im still excited for the release cos im the biggest marvel fan there is!!!!!!

Posted by: Harish on April 12, 2008 at 06:49:55

Hey Nick, just letting you know that Robert's version is still arrogant, but it's covered in humour (of sorts). It's just arrogance being put across in a different form. Also, further character development will come in Iron Man 2, including but not limited to his drinking problem. Imagine where the character will go from there.

Yo, KilLa, I gotta theory for ya:

John = Cruddle = John !!!

As for the additional media, I've been screaming about this since the THIRD TV spot!

MARVEL! PARAMOUNT!! JF!!!

PLEASE!!!!! No MORE!!! You're gonna kill the hype while it's at it's best! Enough already!

Believe it or not, even the most awe-sturck fanboy out there (erm... probably ME!) can WAIT just THREE more Fridays! So I say it again:

***NO*** more TV spots!
***NO*** more exclusive clips!!
***NO*** more behind the scenes!!!

Just STOP! PLEASE?!?!? In the name of all that's good... and red... and gold!

That whole scene is hilaious, right dose of light hearted humour.
