who the f is will i am playing in this movie?
Posted by: Michael on April 10, 2008 at 02:23:56
I can't wait for WOLVERINE.And I have no clue
who Will I Am is playing.I'm not a fan of his
and the Black Eyed Peas,so I hope he doesn't suck in the movie. Will I Am did appear in Joan
of Arcadia, and he wasn't bad in that show.He
played God in one of his many disguises. Can't
wait to see Wolverine!

Will.I.Am is playing John Wraith, a.k.a. Kestrel. He was a member of the Weapon X program.

first 3 were crap, why should we care about this one?
Posted by: J. Christopher Baggett on April 10, 2008 at 02:47:14
Wait. We've got Kestrel, Sabertooth, Deadpool, Weapon 11, and I'm sure there's a bunch more I'm forgetting. Are they all adversaries, or are these going to be supporting characters? Or maybe a bit of both? Either way, it feels like they've gone way past story and straight into fan service...

Marvel is good at bringing everyone's favorite hero's to life but the better start making better movies though...F4 sucked, X-Men where so so, Blade would have been better with the right characters, Spiderman is ok but its getting old, he ain't crackin on the bad guys in the fights, and Mary Jane is always the dansill in distress...Ghost Rider was good but needed a better Rider/Blackheart fight. Don't get me started on the hulk my God!!! that was awfull!!!! it reeked of garbage!!! Ironman brings me hope, but if not then DC will have to pull through....

No, x-men 1 was very much garbage. 2 I liked, 1 is plain and simple crap. It wasn't at all an X-men story and the only good casting was Patric Stewart and Tyler Maine, Who isn't back for this role, we get the dude from Scream movies. The only reason I am even entertaining the idea of seeing this is Ryan Renolds as Deadpool. That is a wise choise and good casting.

Weapon X is the roman numerial for 10, so weapon 11 is the next level up of mutant testing above dear ol Wolvie (in the comics Weapon 1 was actually Captain America)
So far I'm liking everything that has been leaked, looks to be bit of mix of Ultimate Wolverine and the regular, only character I'm unsure of is Beak and how's he going to fit in?

How can you say casting Tyler Mane as Sabertooth was good, aside from the physical resemblence all the guy did in the movie was grunt and growl and i really doubt he's a good enough actor to portray Sabertooth when he's written properly. In the comics he's just as smart as wolverine but in that movie they just wrote him as a brainless thug
Posted by: B. Trask on April 10, 2008 at 05:47:13
Yeah, I didn't really get Tyler Mane as Sabertooth. I kinda felt they should have just left him out. Everything about his presence in the first X-Men movie felt forced anyway. The only thing I remember him doing was holding Halle Berry by the throat and saying "scream for me," which also felt forced. Why didn't he just break her neck? I don't know.
Anyway, this movie is really just a star vehicle for Hugh Jackman. It'll be an added bonus if it actually turns out to be a decent film.

"In the comics he's just as smart as wolverine but in that movie they just wrote him as a brainless thug "
I think he's been written as a brainless thug more than once. Didn't wolverine have to kill him because he went all feral?

why is it WRONG to say that the first three were crap? it's an opinion. however, i did like the second one very much. the first one was exciting when i first saw it, but looking back, and having GOOD movies like spidey 1 & 2 and batman begins to compare it to, it doesn't hold up very well. and that lame excuse for a wolverine/ sabretooth battle should be cut from the film and just pasted somewhere randomly onto X3, which was terrible, i'm sorry. but you're all overlooking one HUGE HUGE mistake in this wolverine movie.......... GAMBIT...... and if i have to explain why gambit SHOULD NOT be in this movie, then you need to go read some comics. or, stay uninformed, go watch the latest 'fast and the furious' movie and go see 'wolverine' just because "uhhh, he kicks ass" and show up to see it in a stupid looking popped collar shirt and a sideways golf viser.

Ok Guys...I know that we have been giving these filmmakers a pass from day one because we all want to see our beloved characters on the silver screen but, come on. All three X-Men left something to be desired, Sam Raimi was God until the 3, and everything else has been a cross between what the studio wanted to see and a smattering of the core of the characters. Every...single...one. Now we have a real movie coming out (Iron Man) and I say real because if this movie WASN'T Iron Man I'd want to see it because of the trailers so far, alone. Hollywood take note...give the movie direction to a true fan of the source material and let them go for it. We will reward you at the box office! And directors, we don't care about what works in the real world...make it work on screen through the source material (300/ Sin City Style, not Watchmen/Schumaker Style!)

X-Men 1 & 3 were already Wolverine Movies. The second one was the only team flick. I hate the way Cyclops was dispatched to being a background character. He's the best X-Man not the midget with the claws.

I think you guys need to take a chill pill. Can't believe you wasting your time philosiphising about and judging a comic book hero movie that isn't even out yet.
Posted by: Archangel on April 10, 2008 at 08:03:25
I truly hope this movie is much better than the three X-Men movies which all pretty much sucked. Superheroes and Supervillains are suppose to wear costumes. Not coveralls, leather, or regular clothes.
Posted by: neb on April 10, 2008 at 08:43:42
the first three were crap lead tester...wtf????
hypocritical, u must like the movies to some degree if ur on this web page...
Posted by: DarknightNomis on April 10, 2008 at 08:58:27
Shouldn't this movie really bne called: WOLVERINEIV:THE BEGINNING.
THose X-Men movies are were vehicles for Wolverine. And not good ones at that.
Marvel now that you're making your own movies please re-boot the X-Men Franchise and do it right.
Starting with NO 6+ FOOT WOLVERINE!!!!!

I find it so stupid for fans to complain about a Wolverine who's too tall. The important thing is to find the right actor. Height does NOT make Wolverine.
Posted by: DarknightNomis on April 10, 2008 at 09:19:01
"Height does NOT make Wolverine"
Uh..yes it does. That's like saying claws don't make Wolverine.
For over 40 years he's been reffered to as "Runt" in the comics. The animal he takes his codename from is a small creature.
If anything it should be a key factor to being Wolverine.

Marky P, you've piqued my interest: I must admit my interest in Weapon X went no further than "that's a cool name!", but it's only since I started reading Wolverine: Origins that I started giving the moniker a ittle more thought...
so... who were/are Weapons 2 to 9? I wouldn't be surprised if his daughter Nyx and his son (name slips me right now - sorry!) were/are in there somewhere...

Guggs is writing. Great. Somehow, he can find a way to make Wolverine beat Superman, Darkseid, SBP and the X-Paths all at once.
Posted by: imaginejim on April 10, 2008 at 10:09:03
Guggs is not writing the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Guggs is writing the video game Wolverine tie-in (with Hugh Jackman). Read the linked story before you comment.
