The Joker is at It Again!
Source:Rezzo
March 29, 2008

You didn't think The Joker was going to sit by and let Harvey Dent have all the fun, did ya? In a follow-up to this item, it looks like The Joker has posted a defaced version of the new issue of The Gotham Times at TheHaHaHaTimes.com and has left clues there as well.

Check it out at the link above and there is an ongoing discussion about the clues here!

This movie i am really looking forward to, well besides The Watchmen

IMO, I think this has been the best viral campaign for a movie! It's like crack and I'm Bobbi Brown (name altered to avoid law suit).

When I wrote Bobbi Brown, I was only referring to the ex-rapper married to an ex-Diva (this is to avoid a different law suit).

I'm tipping a new trailer within two (2) Weeks. This will be the Best movie of the year, and it will definitly blow all the other comic book movies out of the water
LONG LIVE BATMAN

I've been drooling over this movie since last summer... I was in San Diego when the Joker left us a phone number in the sky... How much more hype can we endure??? July 18th is still sooo very far away

Posted by: redhollywood on March 29, 2008 at 02:54:58

Honestly? Where's the taste? Heath Ledger died, yet they're still using his image to make a few bucks. This is shameful. Awful if you ask me.

Posted by: SKuLLFaCeD on March 29, 2008 at 07:17:08

lol what if after all this the movie turns out to be ****
it wont, i no it wont, but itll be funny if it bombs lol

Posted by: TechNoir on March 29, 2008 at 08:08:57

Harbringer (your spelling not mine) nobody asked you. I'm sick of the self deputized Fun Police getting indignant and reminding us all of tragic events every time they get a whiff of someone enjoying anything. This marketing campaign is shameful? Like the automotive industry offering 0% financing in honor of the fallen two days after September 11th? Or like the tobacco industry routinely marketing their product to children? This is nowhere near what society has tolerated from money hungry advertisers before. Let me assure you than ANY actor who dies wants as many people as possible to see their last film, particularly if it's a good one as all accounts so far lead me to believe this is. They would also want it to make a lot of money because there are residuals which would go to the loved ones they leave behind (Mr.Ledger was survived by his parents and his daughter). Yes his death was tragic but in all likelihood the movie will be dedicated to his memory and will also serve as a testament to the immense talent we've lost without having to preach about it. I'm going to see this movie and celebrate what the man accomplished and anyone who wants to stay home making sure that they feel appropriately bad about the death of someone they frankly never met is more than welcome to do so.

I agree with Harbringer. Poor Heath Ledger...even in death, they still don't respect you. It goes to show how greedy and callus the movie studio can be (the reality: it's a company so it needs to make money to survive). It's not funny anymore when you know the real person behind the joker recently died. It actually makes me sad they're resorting to this.

BRAVO! TechNoir, BRAVO!
Well put, couldn't have said it better myself.

Posted by: Carbonite on March 29, 2008 at 08:37:37

Guess you can go cry about it.

Posted by: Anjow1060 on March 29, 2008 at 08:47:54

They're following the original marketing plan. It's no disrespect to Heath, nor should it be. Ledger was an artist and understood the "fun" aspect of this project. While it's somewhat of an art film, it's also an entertainment film and his character hinged a lot on this. His death should make no difference in what they do to market this picture. In fact, they held off on some extra Joker marketing that was going to occur and held off on a new trailer to let more time pass after his death. Not to mention the honors they placed on a few websites for him.

You guys need to pull your heads out of your @$$ses and stop looking for things to complain about.

That's very mature of you TheOnlyFanThatMatters, go back to your hole.

Look, using someone's image is one thing when they're alive, but using their death to promote a film is totally disrespectful. They have plenty of characters they could continue the marketing campaign with. Scarecrow, Two Face, oh wait, how about Batman? No, they deliberately use Ledger's appearance to shamelessly pull people in, while people like TechNoir defend it. Because in all honesty, you don't care about Heath Ledger.

Posted by: Carbonite on March 29, 2008 at 09:41:35

For shame!!!! How could they do such a thing, after all the time we hung out with Heath on the weekends and were all devoted fans of his work pre-joker.

Carbonite, your sarcasm only proves my point about fans not caring.
